It has to be Evans doesn't it? Law of averages would say you're activating your medical sub after half time. You'd want an impact player like Evans in that situation over a structure guy like Zuthrie?

I guess with the Outs, it made sense to include him. He was quiet in the last match in VFL, but his earlier form was excellent.

Well, firstly I think the days of playing a 1 v 1 defence are long gone. Secondly, the outcome of aerial contests in the d50 are determined far more by the quality of the entry than by the individual match-ups. I can't remember the last time in any game for example I saw a high kick into the f50 and didn't think "that will be chopped off by an intercepting defender". Thirdly, height isn't always a good indicator of aerial ability. Fourthly, who's giving away 10cm? I don't think all those players you mentioned for North will be playing in the f50 at the one time. And if they are, they will be conceding a lot of defensive pressure there. I'm not saying Blicavs won't be tracking back to help out the defence at all. I just think him playing between the arcs has been critical to our structure.

With 666 rule now one on one defence is making a bit of a comeback in the importance stakes

Special greetings to any Cats fans who've made the trip south for the long weekend. As a Hobart resident, happy to offer any travel tips. One thing to point out is, if you're driving a car, traffic after the game will be a debacle as parking is a mixture of off-street and the side streets nearby. There is a traffic management plan for events at Blundstone, but traffic controllers and the constabulary have been known to go rogue before and make it up as they go.
