This site is made to talk rubbish. You seem to have done it quite well!

Good luck to all today. I still think the lalor scum won't be able to help themselves after being instigated by the Epping pretenders.

Righto... $1500 raised for charity ($800 Epping / $700 Scum) Congratulation Epping for winning the cup... Not even a bad word uttered all day amongst the crowd and plenty of blue and red shirts enjoying a beer after the game... Have a feeling your insightful perception on rubbish is getting a little tired bud… no one’s really interested ay…

Lalor by about 5 goals against a lack luster Epping side today.
The lead changed 4 or 5 times during the game with the Bloods finishing the better side.
All is not lost bring on round 2 and hope for a better game.
PS : the crowd was well behaved for the game.:thumbsu:

Lacklustre you are kidding stude. Great game where both sides had plenty of oppurtunities to score.I believe Lalor will have your measure on a bigger ground as they were able to run the ball more efficiently than your epping boys in the second half.Fitness and division 1 smarts will prevail

Lalor Prez...Don't take any notice of the idiots like Firsttimecaller. Your club has earned a grear deal of respect both on and off field for your willingness to help some great causes with North Heidelberg and now EppinG. Well done to the supporters from Lalor and Epping for showing what the true spirit local footy is all about. Best of luck for the season .

You think so ?
It's funny how two people can see the same thing and have different opinions.
I think both teams will need to improve to take the flag home, but thats just my opinion.

can any 1 tell me how jarrad king went on the w/end

anyone notice a controversial head show up and do the running at morang over the weekend? sources say Hayden Lamaro was seen doing runner, and there is said to be 6 former Mernda players, that had allegedly gone to Violet Town, now training at Morang?

Was able to see Hurstbridge's introduction into Division 2 against Mernda. Really good game in terms of competition.
Both teams giving their all, all day. Bit of a breeze to one end but plenty of scoring done all day. Hurstbridge blew Mernda out of the water in the second quarter to lead by 6 goals at the break. This would ,in the end, win them the game. Mernda fought back hard to be down by just 7 at the last break and squandered opportunities to hit the lead in the last quarter. Bridge's eventually got up by about 3 goals.
Both young teams, ran hard all day. Kicking skills weren't fantastic but both teams ran the ball fairly well.
Hurstbridge looked settle across the board with not many standouts. Mernda's captain Reesy was fantastic and probably best on. Number 9, Hazy I think his name is, was also good for the demons.
All in all a good game of local footy.
BTW Mernda's away Jerseys looked really nice.
Good effort on Mernda's part to even field a side, 3 players played 2 games on the day. A lot of younger players, and mostly 2'nds players from last season, I cant see this side going all that well this year, but good luck to them. Appears a couple of the ressies boys could get a shot in the 1's next week.

Why are they lucky to field a side?

Round 2 Selections:

Epping vs Lower Plenty
The Blues were solid in defeat last week while the Bears were solid in a hard fought win. The Blues have had the hex over the Bears at the big oval for a few seasons now.
Thomastown vs Lalor
The Bloods lived up to their pre-season hype as premiership favourites and should handle the Bears with ease.
Mernda vs Diamond Creek
No love lost between these two groups of Demons with the visiting ones showing that they will be a force again during the season.
Fitzroy Stars vs Hurstbridge
Great first up win by the 'Bridges with the Stars not performing as expected last week. Might be a different story at home.

I hear not all is well down Mernda way..... Players not to happy with the big Bosnian Curly.... Aqua already walked out on the club after being dropped to the magoos.... Rumor has it that the player group will push for Bullock to take the reigns earlier then expected as seems to be pretty switched on...
Gotta love the start of footy season.
Parko out.....

Not so close Stude! Fair to say that the Epping club is going about things arse about face? Having talked to a few people, consensus is that its all about the 1`and stuff the rest! 2`s once again cop a hiding against Lowers 2`s, Lower create history and win for the first time(convincingly) at Epping in the 1`s, no thirds, no U/17`s and juniors have the Benjamin Britts with the Senior club! What excuse is possible?

Why ask me, I dont give a shit about anything except the one's.
Lower were way to good today, we looked slow and tired all day ??????

Isn't that the problem though? The focus of the Seniors has been on the 1's only. And getting to div 1 and stuff the rest. No focus on juniors = no future players coming through. Surely they don't expect the good players to hang around in 2nd division for another year?

The departing 17's of last year were asked why they chose to leave and almost to a man they said the reason ws the way the club is run and how badly they were treated. It was not about the players or coaching. The Senior Committee (The Ostrich & The Juggler) had first hand knowledge of how bad the junior committee was and yet reappointed them. They tried to get the parents to launch a coup but were too scared to stand them down themselves.

How they can look themselves in the mirror is beyond me. To let players like Haysey go, along with many decent 1's and 2's players who bled for the club is a disgrace.

The senior committee need to accept full responsibility for the mess they are, senior and junior level. It's a shame a handful of families have destroyed the club, just like they did at our cricket club.

At the end of the day, nothing will change at Pingerland until a new committee steps in with new ideas, and unselfish attitudes.

Heard a joke from one of my mates at Epping last week:

What's the difference between the Labor Party and Epping FC? One is run by a power-mad redhead and the other is the Labor Party.

Saw a big win at Thommo today by the bloods. Lalor dominated for 90% of the game. They have a good structure, run hard, use each other and their skills were fantastic compared to the Bears. Might be a tough year for Thommo, they seem to have a lot of big blokes that couldn't keep up with the younger Lalor players. At least the crowd was well-behaved and the players were pretty good as well.
Also, why no scores from Stars vs Bridge?
