The rule has now changed.
If an umpire gives a red card, it must be reported. (Also off the ground for the whole day)
A yellow is 15min send off. 2 yellows in a game and you are off for the whole game.
An umpire may report a player on a yellow card. This would be in the case of a non contact report (shaking the goal post, language, captain calling for a incorrect count e.t.c.)

I thought these were the rules all along. Obviously it was changed. When?
And was the Santoro fiasco the catalyst for the back flip? If these "new" rules had have been in place then there would have been no red card. Umpire stated he did not know what the red card was for, nor did he speak to a West player so obviously was guessing. Were the umpires under some special instructions?
The hastily convened Kangaroo court- after a two and half hour hearing deliberated for 4 minutes and gave Santoro 6 weeks.
Was a stitch up from the beginning.

Doesnt matter if he played out the game. Mont would have had their video there anyway as evidance as they usually do so wht the f... are you complaining about

Obviously they (NFL) now know that the process was flawed as it has now been changed.
Um - was complaining about the sentence actually, and that I thought it was excessive. My opinion, and hopefully the club appeals.. sure they will. Also the post was intended to be informational ...inform BF users about the sentence...
But now I would like to complain about you: You are a very boring tool.
Luckily you do not represent the majority or even minority of West, because there are some good blokes down there. You are not one of them.

What is the producer for appealing a tribunal decision? reading thorugh the leagues by-laws and I didn't see an appeals process mentioned anywhere.

I believe West sung like birds...submitted match video and phone photos...F#$k off to Divvy 2..
And talking to a few West people today Mont tried a pitiful claim of biting to which Mont were asked to supply video of incident which was 5 -10m away but UNFORTUNATELY THE VIDEO WASNT WORKING AT THAT TIME...What a croc. It wasnt until after that that West just happened to have a video of the full incident.
In summary, reading between the lines, Mont didnt have a leg to stand on as THEIR video wouldnt have shown any biting, BUT did show the headbut.
I wonder if the video would have been working if a screamer had been taken and supplied to ALMOST FOOTBALL LEGENDS???

What is the worry for All clubs is the process by which this incident has come about.
Even a policeman can only book someone because of the crime, not the person (other wise all of West and possibly North would be in jail!)
In this case there was no “crime” reported, only a red card. The league has given its umpires the power to report or not on a red card. The umpire didn’t report and didn’t go to the league after the game to ask them to investigate his decision. I would feel embarrassed if I was this umpire as his judgement has been questioned
The league has decided to find out what the red card was about because of the player involved. In any court in the land this would be reason for a judge to dismiss the case as proper process has not been followed. There is only one question to ask Mr Carey- “have you investigated all other red cards that have come through with no report?’ If the answer is No, which it will be, then Mr Carey has decided the player needed investigating. This a throw back to the corrupt days of the DVFL but then we are taking about a current football administration that thinks it is above the law and wants to prove how big it is and believes it doesn’t have to follow due process
As for some of the posts on here claiming West didn’t want an investigation…..Fact 1) West didn’t ask Mont for a copy of the video which the coach has done every game previous 2) West took photos of the player immediately after the game and produced those photos at tribunal 3) the league has not asked Mont for the game
West knew they were going to investigate and have most likely asked the league to investigate but wanted their name to be kept out of the finger pointing as they had a player themselves up a the tribunal
West had the player play the remainder of the game, then took photo’s of an injury. There is now no way to prove the injury was sustained in the clash with Santoro, it could have been at any point of the game afterwards and I would like the league to prove other wise, and West for that matter. The only reason to take the photos is to lodge a complaint
The snipes about Mont not providing a video are quite funny. They cant win. If they have it on film then of course it wont be submitted. If they don’t have it on film, no one will believe them anyway. So either way there will be no video.

Jewells just thought you might be able to help me with something did Daniel Howse train with you blokes last night?
1. Why would West want video from Mont if they had it taped themselves????
2.Photos were taked in jest for 'A LAUGH' amongst mates. ( Had no intention of reporting it.
3.League DID ask Mont for the gamE.
4. West had nothing to do with it.
5. They knew West player was going to get weeks.
And by the way from what I believe it shows player from West leaving ground with blood streaming from face!!!!!

Stop the whinging Mont, you are starting to look like Eltham - and we all know you are better than that. Sentence looks to be fairly servere, however if you keep messing up it eventually catches up with you, appears there is a bit of catch up for the round 2 report in the sentence.
