Re: Northern Football League Division 2

who is that little midgit number 10 who plays for whittlesea, what a terrible player. you know you have had a bad day at the office when you try and tag andy bennett with all types of methods, then andy comes out and kicks 6 and is clearly best on ground. that little germ should crawl back in his tiny hole!

Pick on someone your own size...

and what makes it worse for number 10 is that when we played whittlesea in rd 12 he taged andy then to! and andy had a heap of the ball and kicked 4!
add that to the 6 he kicked yesterday and the amount of ball andy had i think number 10 should just relise his no good! stop lying to urself make ur a hack!

just to add to that, that little pesent number 10 did not shake andys hand after the game all he did was stood by his bench and shook his head as if it was his team mates that lost him the game. the little magott would want to pull his head in, theres nothing better in footy when there a little spite and a bit of biff but at the end of the day you all shake hands and have a beer together. yer???????
happy to have the chance to play in another grand final looking forward to it, hope lower lalor and whittlesea belt the shit out of each other good luck guys!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

mate i kicked 4 and 3 where in the first half so as for cheap kicks when the game was over, you may want to relook that. yeah i didnt have the best of games but my team won so i really dont give a flying fuc#, good luck today guys looking forward to it........

I am not too sure if "THIRSTYFOR WATER" has any FRIGGING IDEA idea what he is talking about. The only Macleod thread who played yesterday was "JUNIOR29" and up until half time when the game was still in the balance it was Junior for Macleod whos super skills and calmness under pressure kicking three (missed two could have been five) and passed one off insuring Whittlesea didnt blow them away before the long break. In fact he was bloody dangerous, cant believe Hanlon didnt learn from the first round when he tore them apart down back:thumbsdown:. Not bad for a guy who hasnt had any game time for four weeks. He didnt spend much time on the ground after half time (small injury) wasnt needed because the boys put themselves into top gear and away they went. By the way "Wendt" great game:thumbsu:. If you win the granny how about a Auction for the HEADBAND? AS for you thirsty go suck a lemon:(

Junior - is Slasher25 your dad ??

Actually, a I agree wholeheartedly about what he posted and I think it
was a mighty big effort to get up for the game.

As for the only Macleod poster who played yesterday, Leskie also played and took a great speckie and also played a great game.

I was this close to getting picked, but Harmsey decided not to take the risk:p:p I failed my skin folds

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Just an old topic Monger vs Ayres. Went down to Heidelberg today to have a look at this Monger and was'nt real impressed. Ayres would eat him for breaky. Today just put my mind at ease the gap and qaulity from d1 and d2 is massive. One standout in my mind was Billy Bardon wasting his time in d2 clearly a d1 player.

its a very big gap isnt it.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

In my opinion, that was the Grand Final preview. Unless Lower Plenty
can step up a gear and cause an upset, I can't see either team
losing a game for the rest of the year.

Posted back on the 9th July, 2007 in response to the Macleod v Lalor game.
I may start to line up to collect the moula........

i was down there today aswell and after watching heidelberg north heidelberg play there a few weeks ago the gap is pritty big. the speed and the size of the players. and the ball use from 2 of the top div 1 teams was fantastic compared to what i saw today!

never the less i hope i have a chance next year to give it a go in div 1 and see what its all about.

GO MACLEOD!!!!!

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

good win by the boys today, we were under dogs and managed to get up with the win. looking forward to the game against whittlesea this week. lower put up a good challange but we were able to run over the top of them in the last quater. Heads up to cam elmor to walk away from that tackle pretty gutsy effort. Also andy knee was a very worthy oponent very good player wasting his time in div 2 should have a crack at div 1 think he would go alright. And that young bloke #19 great pair of hands got a very good future a head of him. nathan lewellyn Your shout for a parma friday lunch time time to bow to your daddy.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

I heard Whittlesea were simply outcoached on Saturday. Been hearing that the coach has no idea when it comes to making decisions on match day. This is what cost them the game. Thoughts anyone?

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

macleod simply outplayed us in the 3rd quarter.
we were way too undisciplined in the 3rd quarter. i think we gave away 18 frees and 14 25metre penaltys.but other than that not to bad a game......
never going to beet macleod playin like that.

last thing ill say about the game is to pose a ? to all the macleod boys.
how the hell do we stop number 6.
andy bennet is probably the best player in divi2. its not number 10's fault.
hes a freak............................................

and northern our coach is a top coach.

nothing more from me this week as we are moving on to lalor.

catch ya boys.

and junior can you tell the macleod supporters to stop calling me baldy.......... it hurts my feelings:(. hahahahahahaha. i actually have hair but just shave it.............................:D

To answer your question about Andy Bennett, put Gissing on him:D
Problem you have is that if you do stop him, then you have to contend
with the other onballers which pick up the slack.

I really hope you knock Lalor off this week and we get the rematch

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Would the gap be as big as it is if all teams had the same amount of money to spend on players??

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

One of the problems is that Kinglake pay exactly the same yearly fee's as Heidelberg. The way I see it is that the only way to even the competition up is to sort out how much money the NFL needs to get in fees and have them distributed from top of divvy 1, to the bottom of divvy 2. Its ridiculously how much more a club the likes of heidelberg spend on players so there needs to be something to give the other clubs a fighting chance to at least get setup.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Went to see Lalor do battle with Lower on the weekend and what a cracking game it was. Lower started very well and should have been 3 or 4 goals up at the first change. The second quarter was a dour struggle with Lalor just claiming the honours. The 3rd quarter was where the Bloods started to take ascendency and, despite a slender lead, you could sense they had control. 7 goals to 2 in the last quarter was evident of this. Best players for lalor were carmusciano (has had a great year) and bailey. For Lower, little Whittaker was always lively and Knee battled hard.
Also caught the early game between Lalor and Thomastown and this proved to be an entertaining affair. The last quarter was an arm wrestle as both teams struggled to find the big sticks (one bloke from Thomastown missed a sitter on the goal line!!) Eventually, Thomastown ground out a 3 goal victory.
One interested onlooker was Dean Sinclair who is apparently on a 7 day bender. Rumour has it that he plans on hitting the pavement by mid September in preparation for a big 2008 (could a playing comeback be on the cards??). His individual training programme couldn't start soon enough if you ask me.

The NFL needs to do something but does raise the issue on how best to do it. One of the major factors is the location of these clubs. Clubs like Kinglake will always struggle because of the remote & smaller community compared to the big suburban clubs like Heidelberg & Bundoora. Unfortunately this gap between the Heidelberg's and the rest won't change unless something like a salary cap is introduced, which is highly unlikely as it will bring down the quality of the competition as a whole. It's a tough situation with no real answers unfortunately. If the NFL was seriously worried about it they would be making major changes.

I'm not gonna bother comparing the two, but I wouldn't rate Clint on that game alone. Monger was far from full fitness yesterday. Still had a pretty good game by most peoples standards, but he is capable of much, much more.

Overall pretty disappointed with yesterdays result. I got to the game at qtr time and we were looking to be in pretty good shape. Then I heard that Cam Elmore had been KO'd in the 1st, and Jase Knee pulled out during the warm-up and I started to get worried. We looked ok in the 2nd, then by the 3rd started to slip off a little but weren't gone yet. By the last qtr we couldn't win a clearance and we ran out of legs with only one or two fit players on the bench.
We were definitely killed at the clearances, as without Bandera or Elmore we were left with our 2nd and 3rd tier ruckman meaning Mafa did pretty well all day.
Considering we were missing som many key players we put up a hell of a fight. I'd love to see a fully fit Lower side head into next years finals and tear it apart.

i know for a fact deano wont be playing next year he has been diagnosed with cancer in his ankle. good luck to deano i wish him all the best , with his battle with the grey needs a rinse twice a week. Deano has asked zeb fleming to be his assistant coach next year since the pair got along so well this season. Also herd a rumor that deano demanded $4000 cash up front for next serason before he signs anything. Think he might be taking the money and going bush with his new misses carol baker.:)

Well another year done and 10 months of hard work has again not achieved the premiership dream. Shattering day for myself. Have played every game this season but strained hammy in the warm up and had to pull out, then the loss.
Unfortunately just ran out of legs with no bench, and losing Elmore (clearly BOG in first quarter) threw our structure out of whack. I know injuries are seen as an excuse, but I cant help thinking what could have been this season when we were missing Parsons (2nd in comp b&f last year), Bandera (former Smith medalist) and Gill (over 50 goals this season) from your best side. Then lose Elmore in the first quarter.
No doubt the players you have mentioned above could play divi 1, but they also love the club and are very loyal. The same could be said of Carmusciano for you, who was best on ground yesterday in my book, and is an unbelievable talent.
On the Monger/Ayres debate - I'm not saying either way who is better, but don't judge Monger on yesterday. First game back from an injury and was well off 100% fitness.
All the best to those still alive. For what it's worth, I think Macleod should win, as they have been the best team all season and will be fresh and well rested. But anything can happen at this time of year.

- Also some interesting tactics by yourself yesterday Stooge. Is that the way you normally play your footy?

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

He is contesting the charge by the looks of it. Probably will get off seeing he is the best player coming into a cut throat final. Will be interesting to see. Don't really think it will matter either way for us.

Good to see Sth Morang enjoy yet another early exit too!

Even better to see you blokes choke again the way you did, "oh we had injuries blah blah blah", "its not fair", "if only we were at full strength". You blokes surely sleep with the light on and all check under your beds for monsters before you hop in them. Hope you all enjoyed your mad Monday and didn't overdo it on the fairy bread and raspberry spiders. :p

Stooge i loved the way you played yesterday, you had them hook, line and sinker, crowd included. Keep it up this week. :thumbsu:
