Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Well , my tip of Lower taking the flag this year, ended last week. Seems as they had their fair share of injuries during the year, and it continued during the finals. Just not good enough to get over the line. Depth is important, although MacLeod have shown this yr, that a senior team is able to succeed without huge depth. Lending other factors to the picture. Very good pre-season, injuries management, rehab programs and more.
On the flip side, Lalor this yr has been a club with great talent depth. As indicated by both teams making the Prelim final. Congrats to the club. Even though they suffered a couple of defeats during the year, as Whittlesea will find out, H & A form counts for little during finals.
My thoughts on who will go up next year are still uncertain. Although i may be speaking for many players, clubs and coaches when i say most of Div2 would like to see MacLeod go up. Not so much cause ppl wish them success, more to the point that with their youth, and improvement they will be a much better side mext yr. Add to this the possibility of 1/ N.Lynch returning next yr 2/ Possiblity of an Ash return 3/ Some more Nth Heid players following Puffa away from the Kennel , this would be a very fierce team in Div2. And quite competent in Div1.
I may add this whisper to the mill as well. There may be a strong influence during the cricket season, to see the Wise brothers sign up for season '08. I dont know how good the junior Wise is, but i do know the senior Wise can play a bit.
All in all, if any team other than MacLeod take the flag, it will be premature. I dont see Lalor or W'Sea ready for Div1 next yr. Nor do i see the Div2 flag being taken from any other team in Div2, should MacLeod remain.
Although as recent form has proven, i have been wrong before.
Good luck to all of you on either side of the fence during the following fortnight.

looker who the hell are you?? that vh went into the creek at macleod about 6 yrs back. also the likes of ricky frost coming aboard would be great his been at just about everyone of our games obviousally not to play (to many injurys which is a shame for such a great bloke) but just on the coaching staff would be great.

I may be late on this news, i am not sure. I was told today that Jazzy has died. If this is true, does anyone know when, and how?
And more importantly, did she groom an understudy?

Mate, your dreamin. Both Wises hate Macleod FC with a passion.

Let's hope for your sake that stays true. Will you be able to convince them to not only play for you, but stay in the country next year? I spose it would be easier to win games with them in the team. Is the junior Wise any good? I only knew of him when he was much younger. Has he come along?

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Timmy goes well, came 2nd in our b&f 2 years ago before going OS. He's not sure if he'll be going back or not next year. Rob's the same. Neither will be at Macleod FC. They love the cricket club though

Both Wise's are O/S at the moment and I'm pretty certain that Rob is coming back very shortly for the cricket season. Timmy on the otherhand
is staying O/S for a little longer.

Absolute no chance of any of them playing at MFC - if anything, Rob
would go back to Monty or play with his close mates at Parkside.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

It's eearily quiet out there.....is this the calm before the storm.

How the game will pan out :

Whittlesea will try an exert their influence on the game from the bounce
and will be instructed to go long & direct to the tall key position players.
Might be a good idea for Lalor to drop 1 back early for the 1st half of the quarter and reassess.

Lalor's mid fielders will want 1st use of the ball. Provided they run and run and run, Whittlesea will be chasing tail all afternoon.

This is going to be a corker - looking forward to a bit of biffo, a few reports and maybe even a streaker !

Hope the dim sims are nice & moist at Warringal

My Mail is that Fitzgerald will Smack Shackleton early in the first qrtr.

Keep an eye out over your Shoulder Stooge01, U know it will be coming . :D

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Cant split them, but if I had to, Whittlesea by 2 -3 goals (provided they play 4 quarters and dont have any lapses).

Players to watch:
Whittlesea - Page (should have significant height advantage over Mafa and give onballers first use) Fitzgerald (their most physical player who makes others walk taller) Booker (can run and break lines)
Lalor - Carmusciano (runs all day and hard at it) Groth (as with Carmusciano) Bailey (best ball user and will pin point forwards if given the chance)

He has a pretty good right uppercut aswell. :D
