Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Heard the other day that an umpire cracked the s***s and pulled out of a finals game. Apparently he didn't like being told how he umpired a game the other week.
Can any one fill us in?

We've offered our pick 11 in this years draft to South Morang for Tennant.

Last in Seniors / Last in Reserves / Last in 19's / Juniors not good results.

Big change required for them to be competitive again even in Div 2.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

What a cracker of a game on the weekend...very fitting of a preliminary final. Poor kicking by Lalor early on kept Whittlesea in the game I thought because at half time Lalor should have been further in front than what they were. By 3/4 time I honestly felt that Whittlesea were going to run over the top of the Bloods but, to their credit, they held on in a pulsating last quarter. Better players for Whittlesea were Toll and Fitzgerald. Whilst for Lalor Carmusciano (yet again...when he went off the ground Lalor looked vulnerable) and big Shackleton.
Caught most of the Reserves game also and Lalor did it easily.
My early prediction for the big one is a Macleod victory but I don't believe they will have it all their own way. The weather could also play a big part!!
As far as the Reserves are concerned, speaking with a few Lalor people in the crowd, the Bloods will win it easily and have at least one flag in the bag already. Not sure what others think?
Went past Sidney Cresecent last night at about 6.30pm and couldn't see the Lalor boys on the track. Anyone know what they were up to yesterday? Also, did Curtiss get off at the tribunal??
Spotted Dean Sinclair in the crowd at Heidelberg also and it looks as though his pre-season hasn't started as yet. Still on that bender by the looks of things.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

We did have a number of players in our sights for next year but with all the coaches and committe from this year not continuing on next year I am not sure weather the discussions with those players have continued or just stopped.
Iceman. It would be a shame if this is the case. Knowing how hard it was to attract a coach and get a committee together this year for Wallan, i hope they can get things in order quickly off the field as you seemed to show some real improvement as the season went on. Might have to get Sleathy back?

matchwinner: What I hear Tennant wouldn't leave Morang while the big guys coaching and I hear that go's for a lot of the boy's there.

Yeh fair enough. You've got some good players coming thru so I wouldnt expect anyone to be leaving. Ronnie is coaching again?

I was obviously joking also - last i knew of there wasn't a draft in the Northern Footy League so we couldn't possibly trade a draft pick for a player.

Our AGM is tonight so hopefully we can get a big turn up and hopefully people do jump on the committe. Have you thought about going for the coaching job Goona?

I would think draft choice number 1 and a young kid(seems the flavour at morang) and the football department might consider it.

Can you get the number one pick off Kinglake?
Maybe offer them a slab of vic and a computer from 1986 with free dial up for a year!!

Rumor has it Shane Bamford is being pursued by the nfl to become the first full time Dim Sim taste tester.:thumbsu::p

Slow down Raav leave the stirring of Morang players to me. I wouldn't be saying anything about Bamf's dim sim habit when i've seen you swallow them witout chewing. I bet in the two weeks since our season has finished you can no longer fit into your match day shorts. You will need to borrow Brittle's shorts when pre season rolls around or even Big Marty's shorts as the word at the pub last Fri night is he won't be needing them anymore. Bamf will still need his shorts because it doesn't matter what time of year it is he is always on the largish side. I fear he will get reported one day for violently stretching his shorts.:p:eek:

Possibly even indecent exposure after a wardrobe malfunction.:D
Dim sims aren't made to be chewed. And just quietly i've actually dropped a few kg's. must be all the xbox exercise:cool:

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Congratulations Macleodboy07 on selection this week.
You deserve it - your persistence certainly paid off.
Now go wrap yourself up in cotton wool for the night
and get a good night sleep.

To the Lalor spys down at training last night, you should have
popped in for a frothy or 2.

memo to Matchwinner - I think I'll come through with the goods tomorrow ! Let me know if you're going to Preston

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Good luck to both teams tomorrow in the big one.
I'll be 'looking' with great interest, and sharing a beer with the winning team once all is said and done. Looking forward to an intense battle, and a great spectacle. Hoping the best team on the day wins.
My prediction, MacLeod by 6 goals if it stays dry.
Lalor , to win need to be physical, and accountable. They wont win it on talent, or luck. MacLeod on the other hand just need to keep up the style that has got them to where they are. They are able to win it on talent and luck alone. This game will need to be played on Lalor's terms if they are to have any chance of an upset. Tough ask 4 weeks in a row. Although it has been done.

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

here ar my tips for the day.

macleod by 8 points
medalist : the guy with the headband.

thomo to win the 2's
medalist: bultsy cause he is the only person i know playing in that game.

whitt to win by 1 point in the 19's.(more from the heart then the head that tip)
medalist: team effort- need everyone playing at 100% to beat mernda.

and the only way for lalor to win is for it to pis$ down which it is at the moment in reservoir and for stooge to cut sick and knock out andy bennet.

good luck boys. not going as working. go eagles

Never right off Lalor in a Grand Final I say. They have a great record and I can see them getting over the line in yet another Grand Final.

I had a bit of a look, but I am certainly not a Lalor spy! Macleod - looked sharp (you'd hope so at this stage of the year)

It's win /win for me that way I see it...

Bloods win - then Mont continue a nice little rivalry

Eagles win - I get to walk to a Mont away game.

Anyway good luck to all :thumbsu:

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Tank - Not all of the interested onlookers were "Lalor" spys. I ventured out to see you guys train for a little while. As J & B pointed out skills were very good (especially given the conditions).
Predictions - I am leaning towards a very close grand final the more I think about it. At this stage, Macleod by 3 goals. Anyone know if Lalor will be at full strength, did Terence pull through.
Mernda to win the 19's.
As for the Reserves, another tight game but I think Thomastown will prevail, although many Bloods supporters have pencilled this in as a certainty.
Bring it on!!

Re: Northern Football League Division 2

Some of you clowns should have come into the rooms to introduce yourselves.

Our clubrooms are always open for business and it would be good
to put some faces to names (exception Kangafanman)

I'm referring to you Ghost Writer.....you NFL junkie !
