That'll do for the non-footy related chit-chat. Enough W'sea/Macleod slagging. We will see who has the bragging rights after this weekend, its still a chance that W'sea will end up with more silverware from the year then Macleod! Lets get on topic with this weeks games. Anymore slagging of players and clubs unwarranted will be swiftly removed ;)

Hey Rod,
Met a few of your Mernda Teamates and was chatting to them for a while.
Seem like a good bunch of blokes. They said that you were long gone......and then I noted you posting on this site whilst the Whittleasea / Macleod game was on...Why didn't you hang around ? Don't you like the showers are Cramer St ?

Sorry mate, I had to make some serious headway with Gus and Megsy at the Mernda Pub. Im sure we will catch up this weekend though. Come find me before the 2's if your there early watching the 19s or amongst the commotion after the reserves.

Im also making you sooks a social topic that you can blab on about anything you like.

Willo is a chance to come in. Done the entire pre-season and has not missed a session.
Ducky kicked 8 goals in the 19's and we are not lacking in forward power.
Ewart still on crutches and you would know this is you went to Cramer St
on Sunday - no chance.

So it will probably be between Wilson, Bottomley or Murray
"Age & experience" against "youth & pace"

wouldnt be writing off ewart completely, word is he is pretty keen to play and is off cruthces..but yer odds are against

You wouldnt know sh!t mate. The only rift is the inaminary one started by toolbags like you on this site. I sat with the twos in the stands on the weekend and they were all supporting the ones.

Mate, what does ' inaminary' mean? Did you go to the same school as Trav Stevens?

What makes you so confident that Macleod could survive?

macleod into div one ?

They are at least two years off it.
Surely puffer would not continue ?
That would leave lovett as their key forward - good kid but not yet
Their defence would get ripped apart - too young or too slow in the main
Their on ball brigade is simply not up to it - andrews would meet bigger bodies - nankervis would get hammered and his skills would be shown up - andy bennett, well he just cheats and gets easy ball mostly , he will get shown up going the other way in div one - kane shaw - good player but don't ruin him by asking him to jump into the likes of gay - he'd be a cripple by round 12
They have some good kids and in time they will become a div one club ..
but their supporters have been a big fish in a small pond for a while now and have developed delusions of granduer blended together with a nice dose of our shite don't stink
Top work by some of the boys when the young morang kid was going off in the 19's last week , some kangas moved over to the morang area and heckled the frustrated young fella but none seem too interested when the older morang blokes chipped in ..

T/town surely could not survive in 1st division so macleod to win by 20 points

Some entertaining reading lately lads.....

Ridiculous statement CUMS. As i said, unless things have changed drastically, all you need to do to Macleod is play close hard physical footy and they fall away. A fact brought about by no physical size. Big difference between Divvy 1 and 2 sunshine and the top 8 or 9 clubs would make a meal of Macleod (and Diamo would probably beat you as well).

Thommo to get over the line again if they keep their heads on and stick to the game plan. 6 goals (12 before junk time).:D Macleod big fish in a little pond (as someone else put it) and should just stick to Divvy 2, they can't match it with the big boys!!!:D

Either way hope it is a good close match.......

Good summary - If only it was correct

Macleod are now ready to go up - but none of us have high expectations after the last two years - sure it will really hurt - but we will just fight another year. Taking puffer out. Jason Lundberg, Adam Reimers and Jayden Wendt are the oldest players at 26 / 27 and capable of playing divvy one. The rest of the kids average 21. Some really good young talent who only need a few older and harder bodies around them. Shaw is not the ruckman nor is he meant to be. Unfortuantely the two ruckman are currently out so Shawry has to wear the task.

If Macleod were to go up they are ready and cashed up to recruit 4 guns(just got to hope they can find them). Thats not counting Lynch (WHO WILL RESLOVE THE PROBLEM UP FORWARD ALONG WITH EWART) and Corr who are coming back next year. FOR SURE

Sure that just might not be enough to get them into finals but it will certainly be close and make them competetive. With some great junior talent flowing through (20 from the colts who played off in this years Grand final) they will be around divvy one a lot longer than some other teams from divvy two when they went up and come straight back down one or two years later.

They have also just bought on a big sponsor and along with their two other current major sponsors things are looking great. Also along with our new club rooms the slope is to disappear and ground improvements start in October. One could only hope the ground could be half as good as Elthams.

As for our shit not stinking and delusions. Listen you arseh*le some of us were around when our club was getting our arses kicked by 30 goals each week (that was only 12 years ago) and people treating us like second class citizens No-one wanted to come to Dewinton, it was like travelling to Kinglake. And I dont think any people from our club are acting like some of those people back in those times. But what would you know you were probably still in nappies.

As for the young Morang kid going off the ground. He had already been reported and red carded about four times because of his stupid behaviour on the ground which had nothing to do with the Macleod Supporters. So dont try and reverse his unruly behaviour to the fault of Macleod people. SECONDLY IT WAS NOT THE OLDER MORANG BLOKES WHICH STOPPED THE MACLEOD SUPPORTERS FROM HECKLING. IT WAS THE MORE CONTROLLED PEOPLE OF MALCEOD WHO TOLD THEIR FEW SUPPOERTERS (WHICH WE ALL HAVE) TO PULL THEIR HEADS IN TO STOP ANY FURTHER CONFLICT.

Finally your comments about Nankervis and Bennett in divvy one just show how much you know about them personally and in general football -

F&$* Offfff________

On Ewart, a great talent, but can you bank on him sticking around? For a young fella, he is already at his 3rd club, so loyalty is certainly not his strong suit! Especially when you consider he jumped ship half way thru a season.

Yea Don't really know enough about the bloke to answer that question. Can only hope that his relationship with Puffer who got him to the club after playing together at North would be strong enough to get a big commitment from him.

his not going anywhere. is playing with his mates now and has found his home. really enjoying his footy when he was playing and slotted straight into the side and the club

spot on. there were reasons for leaving the other two teams. Its a pity that Preston RSL (played over 150 games with) didn't have it own seniors, otherwise he'd still be there.

I believe Thommo will dominate this weekend. I played against alot of their young guns growing up (Collins, Folino, Abela, Curcio, Berak, Calafiore) and they will all play divvy 1 football without a problem. I think the team/unit element they have will shine through as they seem to play for eachother alot more then most top sides I saw this year.

My tips
Seniors- Thommo to be in control all day and win by 30 points...
Ressies - Mernda to kick clear in the last and win by 20pts...

allthough i have said this every week, last two being fair dissapointing, looking forwrd to a great finals day. thomo n macleod both have something to prove and should be fantastic. could go eiter way in a 10 point screamer.
2's would like to see mernda get up but cant see it happening whitt will be hungry fot both games and will get up by 4 goals.
19's who knows but may as well make a day of it.
clump i will be at the bar near the wing, not the forward pocket, all day. i owe you a beer.
to everyone else, it is a good place to be. the bar never gets that crowded and in a prime possie. in most games at creamer st that is where all the action is.
see you all saturday
