Are we due a new jumper design for 2025? Surprisingly came round on the toilet seat collar after hating it in ‘23.
Based on what ASICS have done since we started with them (a new design every 2 years), yes we're due. We also have the 100 year logo being added so there will definitely be a change of some description and they won't just be wheeling out the exact same jumper as 2024.

ASICS seem to also use the same collar across sports, so it will likely end up similar to this (new Broncos kit), :

(for reference, the Broncos used the below collar for the last seasons, which obviously looks familiar):

Can't remember which thread the club's legal stuff is in, but thought this might be relevant.

A Catholic diocese in regional Victoria has been found not liable for the sexual abuse of a young boy by one of its priests.
The High Court on Wednesday overturned on appeal a previous ruling by Victoria's Supreme Court that Ballarat's diocese was liable.
The High Court found the relevant legislation did not provide a basis for imposing vicarious liability because the priest was not an employee of the church.

The principal issue in the High Court appeal was whether the diocese could be held vicariously liable for abuse committed by Coffey, despite the priest not being formally employed by the diocese.
That form of liability is usually reserved for employers responsible for the wrongful or negligent actions of their employees, regardless of whether the organisation was at fault.
The Victorian courts had extended that to the church, finding Coffey was still was a "servant of the diocese" and through the role had the "power and intimacy" to abuse children.
But Australia's highest court on Wednesday ruled the lower courts had overreached.

The High Court's decision said it has repeatedly refused to extend the boundaries of vicarious liability to include independent contractors.
"Expanding the doctrine to accommodate relationships that are 'akin to employment' would produce uncertainty and indeterminacy," the judgment summary read.

Given the person in question was only a volunteer at the club and was not an official employee, I wonder if that legal precedent comes into play for the club in its legal issues atm.

The court in our case also held we were not vicariously liable but the jury found that we were liable because we had a duty of care to the victim and were negligent.

I suspect we will have an outcome of our appeal soon.

Ouch, not a fan of that collar. Will be interesting to see if it goes back to red like 21 and 22 or remains white.

Not sure if this has been posted already or if this is the correct thread so apologies in advance. Yesterday’s (?) Guardian Australia has a weekly column “The Weekly Beast”. One segment in the article said that Sharnelle Vella and Bulldogs Bob Murphy will be the new hosts of Melbourne ABC radios breakfast hosts from next year

Been mentioned somewhere, can't recall which thread. I heard a bit of Bob with Jacinta Parsons last Friday (he was covering for Brian Nankervis). He's ok, and he might grow into it, but he's no Sammy J.

ABC Melbourne tried replacing Red Symons years ago with Jacinta Parsons and Sammy Shah. Was a spectacular failure. Seems they're trying to replace another successful breakfast host with co-presenters again. Didn't learn from last time...

it’s worth a try. There are just a handful of things that define Melbourne and its character. One of them is its footy obsession.

But for all the Melbourne-based footballers in the public eye (let’s say 200+ in any given season) there are precious few who are articulate, intelligent, thoughtful and, for the most part, original. Bob is one of those rare footballers who is.

It makes sense to attempt some kind of fusion between footy and those other aspects of Melbourne’s social and cultural life. Good luck to them.

Melbourne 774 ABC radio. Oh yes. Happy memories. Can't believe it'll be 19 years next season.

If any sleuths out there are able to track it down, on ABCs Hard Quiz S8.E12 a couple of weeks ago there was a guy whose speciality was the Bulldogs and spoiler alert he won! I spent a while looking but it doesn't seem to be online

What answer did he give to why Cody performed so badly in the EF?

Bulldogs-Geelong 2006 last quarter is on Fox footy at the moment as a 30-minute thriller (win by 1pt)

Holy shit, Moz was so damned good 😭 So glad he got a flag, albeit 10yrs later

We played them twice that year, won by a point and lost by a point the next game. Played Collingwood in a big final at the G, my first final, it was amazing.

It's been 5 hours - I'll post something.

What's your hopes/expectations for the Dogs in 2025? I think you're potential top 4. Keep the injuries to a minimum and anything could happen.
We've been saying that every year since 2021. We have enough top graders, but our depth and coaching has impacted at different times.

I've heard the players like Bevo - but what about the fans? Would you be happy with a change?
I was absolutely in the move on basket before they brought in the new personnel last season. He's shown his best is good enough, but he gets too creative sometimes imo and seems to overcomplicate things at times and that ruins our consistency and chemistry on the field. Since the new faces came on board, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt this year, but I'd be very disappointed if he is extended before the bye. He needs to prove himself worthy of a contract extension this year imo. If we fail to finish top 6 this year, I would like him moved on.
