you'd probably have to do it if it meant we gain a player only a year older but a vastly superior footballer.

I'd really be hoping Christensen's back is fixed good a and proper though as he'd help fill that Duncan void in the years to come.
I really hope you're kidding Bobby, Mitch is a star of the future and has been much more than serviceable in our team this year. In fact I suggest he has been 1 of Sel's main supports!

Nothing I've seen has cemented the fact Danger is willing to leave Ade and I would rather not sell the house to buy a RV just yet..

Not sure if it has been mentioned on here already, as I'm not prepared to search through 33 pages of forum, but I heard over the weekend that Dangers misses is currently or about to start studying at Uni in Geelong. Bring him home to Moggs Creek Wellsie!!!

I'm not kidding Shai and yes, I totally agree with you on all points but if we could get Dangerfield and lose Duncan + 1st rounder, I'd do it and I think Stephen Wells would do so too.
Duncan is a beauty, he is only going to get better but Dangerfield has him covered for pure athleticism and that's before we even get into the differences between the two when it comes to influencing football matches, remembering Patty is only 1 year older as well.
Ok, can see the logic but still a contrary ass and wouldn't want it if it meant losing Duncan.. :)

The game I remember Guthrie not having to worry about tagging was Round 22 against the Hawks. Obviously still needs to work on his decision making a bit but he finished with 33 disposals (11 contested) at 72% efficiency which is okay. In 2015 I hope we let Guthrie off the tagging hook and just tell him to focus solely on winning the ball because I reckon we'll see more and more of those performances, as I said decision making is something he needs to work on.

Mitch Duncan is a no trade, not under any circumstance, and even for a player of Patty's ilk. His improvement has been evident in most areas this season, and his numbers have improved each season since his debut....he's on the verge of stardom. Not to mention Patty's style of play doesn't guarantee he plays into his 30's, such is the crash and bash nature of his game. We've already seen his injury issues this season.

While Patty's currently the better player, Duncan has a hell of a lot more upside and has the potential to turn into a player of similar ilk. Nobody else on our list in his age bracket have the same class and ability to turn into one of the game's best runners......Duncan does, and you don't trade that away from your list.

You may think my words are a little far fetched, but return to this space in 2 years.

Not to mention that Duncan is also currently the best kick of the footy in the team.

I'll also make a wild prediction and suggest he'll win our Best and Fairest.

I hope it is more accurate than your prediction of who was going to win the Premiership.

Sorry Matty. Could not help that low blow.:D

You win some you lose some. :(

Duncan polled the 3rd highest votes for the club at the brownlow behind Johnson and Selwood, a pretty good effort.

The thought of trading Duncan seems almost insane to me…..even for the Messiah Dangerfield.

I agree that Mitch could win our B&F one day, and I'll add the Geelong captaincy to that.

He's a gun!

Unless he wants to go home there's no way we would trade him.

He's capable of being our next Bartel.

Preach it brother. I am with you.:thumbsu:

Danger at his best is up there with Selwood as one of the best mids behind Ablett. He would improve us immensly, don't forget he is also fast.

But I would not just trade anyone for him.

The obvious players for mine not tradeable: Selwood, Taylor, Hawkins, Motlop, Caddy, Duncan.

Rest I would consider for a player on Patty's ilk. (And no before you mention it, SJ, Bartel, Enright aren't trade material because of age)

Was he wearing a Geelong Polo shirt?

Totally agree! Way to talented to be a tagger. But he did improve a hell of a lot this year. Let him loose CS!!
