Why is he more expendable though? He is 6'3" tall, lightning quick and has fantastic penetration with his kicking (something we severely lack). Blokes with those qualities aren't exactly dime a dozen.

It's all personal opinion but I'd keep Murdoch ahead of Gregson.

Again I stress I hope we keep them both.

I feel Gregson is the most expendable player we have with currency. Adelaide is stocked for inside mids so GHS is of no use to them. Cockatoo, Thurlow and Lang are all untouchable. Gregson had a very promising first season but doesn't scream superstar to me - moreso handy player a la Stokes. It doesn't mean I want to lose him, but if we have to lose someone to bring in Danger, that's what I'd be hoping for.

Like gregson but we already have our small forwards covered with Betts & Cameron.

You are correct I'm saying we are stocked with inside mids, so rules out ghs.

We need outside mids, which is why Murdoch is appealing.

Otherwise, it is likely to be all picks, as can't see you letting go a player we need.

I don't find Murda to be such a rare package. There have been countless players with great speed, and even long kicking, who lacked footy smarts. To me he is entirely expendable if it comes to trading with Adelaide.

Nope , no chance .

This deal has to make Geelong a much better side , that's the whole point of it , no point for us to do a deal that doesn't make us better.

If a deal cant be done were Geelong come out as winners than he walks out of Adelaide who get nothing in return and we try our luck in the draft. Nothing in return for Tippet and Dangerfield is a disaster for Adelaide.

There is still a chance of Geelong offering Dangerfield a 2 year deal that is too much for Adelaide too much .
