Who is #2?
I'm presuming Lachlan Cabor.

Only one Swans academy player named in the AFL's Academy squad for 2022;
Lachlan Cabor, (New South Sales/Shellharbour/Sydney Swans Academy)

He was only 16yo when named in the NSW/ACT u-17 Rams team in July 2021; (others a year older incl Billy King, Gander and Sabolch).
U17 AFL NSW/ACT Rams side announced - AFL NSW / ACT

So not draft eligible next year.
(9 underage players were named in the AFL squad).

At 176cm, I'm tipping he won't solve any KPP deficiencies. :D

NAB League Round 4 Results
Greater Western 13.9.87 def Swans 7.14.56

Best Players: Liam Puncher, Will Edwards, Toby Alker, Caiden Cleary, Indhi Kirk, Hamish Morrison

Puncher has the best name.

Also "Indhi" is exactly the sort of name I would imagine Brett would call one of his kids :p

For 2022 Angus has played across 3 swans programs - AFL ( pre-season trail game v GWS) squad during the week, VFL (2 games most tackles on the ground v Port Melbourne, 10 tackles) and 2 Academy games

Angus stats from his last Academy game

GWV REBELS 13.9 (87) DEF. SYDNEY ACADEMY 7.14 (56)

136 points – Angus Anderson (Sydney Academy)

130 points – Aaron Cadman (GWV Rebels)

121 points – Jordan Endemann (Sydney Academy)

118 points – Charlie Molan (GWV Rebels)

115 points – William White (GWV Rebels)

#27 Angus Anderson

The Swans over-ager was by far the most prolific ball-winner, amassing 28 touches and just doing his third across four quarters. He managed to hit the scoreboard in the third term off a step with a great snap, breaking the drought of the Swans who had not managed a major since the first three goals of the game. He was fierce around the stoppages and tried to lift his side across the game, working hard both ways to cover the ground in the defensive half, then get forward and create avenues to score in transition. Finished the match with an impressive 28 disposals, six marks, six tackles, three inside 50s, five rebound 50s and a goal.

Charlie Molan (GWV Rebels) – 25 disposals, 8 marks, 1 goal
Aaron Cadman (GWV Rebels) – 14 disposals, 6 marks, 3 goals
Beau Tedcastle (GWV Rebels) – 10 disposals, 3 marks, 4 goals
Angus Anderson (Swans Academy) – 28 disposals, 6 marks, 6 tackles, 1 goal
Jordan Endemann (Swans Academy) – 17 disposals, 4 marks, 2 goals
Will Edwards (Swans Academy) – 14 disposals, 5 marks, 6 rebound 50s

Don’t forget about this kid still 18 years old, 190 cm inside animal. I watched his game live in Melbourne on the weekend .was an standout performer across the 2 teams. he is smart skilful and makes good decisions under pressure wins his own ball ..

I really like Anderson, have been following his progress. Hopefully he gets picked up this year.

When will the allies squad be announced? Do we have any certainties?

(Log in to remove this ad.)

Seven QBE Sydney Swans Academy athletes have been named in the 2022 Allies squad for the U18 National Championships.

UNSW-Bulldogs trio Toby Alker, Jordan Endemann, Indhi Kirk, Pennant Hills’ Christian Webster, Sawtell Saints’ Angus Anderson, Sydney Uni’s Caiden Cleary and Manly’s Will Edwards make up the QBE Academy contingent selected for Allies representation.

The full Allies Squad can be found here

For a squad with only 6 under agers named on a list of 46, it's clear (wink) that Caiden is a universally regarded prospect for 2023.

We better grab another pick or two for next year's draft as any predicted success coupled with the possibility of Cleary attracting bids in the top 5-10 will have us sliding well back in the draft order.

Exciting times though as we seem to nail drafts when our top pick is an academy player and the rest are diamonds in the rough that only we know how to find and develop!

Who is #2?
Heard Leo Barry's kid is a gun. Though they're currently based in Victoria.

Only two 18 years olds from Sydney in the Allies squad. I think Kirk's probably the closest to getting drafted and even that might be because most Sydney fans would want another Kirk on the list.
