The Sydney Swans will have a solid representation at the 2023 U18 National Championships this year with six players and one staff member selected to represent the Allies throughout June and July.

Allies up by 43 at half time. Our Academy lads are doing well and playing unselfish team oriented footy. Cabor has a decent burst of speed and went on a couple of long runs and finished with neat passes. Cleary is a magnet. Kirk not all that involved and May in limited minutes has struggled a bit against a physically stronger ruck.

Close in the end with SA kicking straight and Allies being woeful at set shots.
May was better in the second half. Should mention Max Rider also was pretty good.

Sanders (TAS) easily best on ground - will go top 10 I reckon.
I wouldn't put the academy lads in the top 5 players on ground. About middle of the pack, but that's where we expected them to be anyways.

Played well, esp in first half.
Barely sighted Cabor in the second half and think he spent a lot of time on the bench. Certainly in our best in the first half.

At the very least we will have some good talent coming through the VFL side next year to provide some much needed depth. I know a few of the blokes are over-agers but to have six of our academy players represented in a very competitive allies squad is a great outcome.

Not an awful lot to get excited about, as most of the guns in the Allies are Suns Academy.
