Not an awful lot to get excited about, as most of the guns in the Allies are Suns Academy.

Max Ryder the best of the Swans thus far.

The 2 Tasmanian mids looked really good. I assume they are rated as top 10. Looked like they could win the ball, move well and had clean disposal.

O'Sullivan the 198cm KPD looked ok. He is from Albury but not academy linked. Apparently he is rated as a late 1st round pick.

Cleary got quite involved as an inside mid but not as polished with his disposal. May looks a very big unit. Rider kicked 2 goals and could be a lead up medium forward prospect as a rookie.

What games have you been watching?

Clearly was good in the first game and got much more centre bounce time today and was fantastic with his work on the inside.

He reads the ruckman well, has good hands and does most of his stuff with blokes hanging off him. He exactly what we are looking for to draft and will go in the top 25 picks.

Kirk also got a lot of the football today and didn’t look out of place.

Cabor has some pace and good foot skills and will get himself onto our list.

Gander in his first game found a bit of the football (particularly when he went down back).

As for Rider, he certainly has been a surprise packet so far. Reminds me of Jeremy Cameron (not as tall) but he moves across the ground well and is composed with the football.

We don’t have the eye catchers that the Suns have, the two Tassie boys and that key forward from GWS McCormack, but it’s likely 3 or 4 of them will end up on our list at the end of the year.

Particularly looking forward to seeing Cleary he has Gulden vibes.

Kirk has already been passed on, in last year’s draft - I can see rookie list at best.

Gander hasn’t really impressed enough to be considered anywhere near the top 60 kids in the country.

I agree that Cleary is going well. But he’s not in first round considerations at this point. Several Suns and perhaps GWS kids are.

Cabor has been reasonably highly rated - I’m sure he’s a close watch for the remainder of the season.

Realistically, I think only Cleary gets drafted at this stage - with Rider and Cabor perhaps coming into consideration.

I don't think we would have enough list spots to take more than 1-2 academy players this year. We already have an extra 2 on our list with the Mid Season draft guys.

I am guessing we take Cleary as an inside mid either as a late round pick or Cat B. May looks a good size ruckman. Possibly we take him as a Cat B or hope he goes undrafted and take him next draft. Rider has not been talked about much. But I think he has kicked 2 goals in each Allies game. And looks an athletic medium forward with an accurate kick.

Does anyone have a link to ....
replay of the Allies v WA game?
stats on the Allies v WA game??

Stats likely in Coates AFL app?

Sydney’s academy prospects also caught the eye, with Caiden Cleary finishing with 28 disposals and six clearances, while Indhi Kirk – the son of premiership Swan Brett Kirk – constantly involved in the game, racking up 21 disposals, eight marks and six tackles. Kirk, who turns 19 in late August, was draft eligible last year, but could still land at the Swans as a father-son pick later this year.

Based on exposed form, Clearly is unlikely to make it past the second round in the draft. Will be inside the top 40 picks.

Allies looked ok today, but I think WA just looked terrible, so maybe accentuated how good the Allies seemed to be.

The Allies accounted for SA easily the week before and were better as the game went on.

They will push both the Victorian teams, but not sure if they can beat them at this stage.

They are a clear third best at this stage

That's about where he's expected go. 2nd or 3rd round, someone might play silly buggers but who knows.

Roberts, Sheldrick and Cleary would be a good young group of inside mids pushing each other for a spot.

Though I feel Cleary might be overlooked by bidding sides. Because Rogers, McKercher and Sanders seem to have a more dynamic attacking game.
Crows and Hawks have picks in the late 20s, I wouldn't be surprised if they bid.

I think the top 30 is very talented and don’t see Clearly in the top 30 so if bids come before top 30 let him go

This is a very important draft getting it right

Lots of talent and future drafts will be significantly impacted due to tassie

Given our bidding activity at last year's draft, I feel there might be a couple of clubs out for 'revenge bids' this year - whether that be on May, or Cleary, or even Rider...

That's just myth.
