The disappointment from Geelong is how Stephen’s hadn’t progressed considering his selected draft position but hoping he takes his chance & shows a bit on the field - wish him all the best.
If we traded him alone, it would have been a late 3rd at best

So 25 & a late 3rd for Henry is ok imo

Ok so Ollie Henry for pick 25, 38, 48, 55, future 2nd and 3rd as well as Cooper Stephens (pick 16). PLUS we get to read how Geelong reamed everyone in this deal. LOL.

Stephens wasnt worth 16 on the market anymore he was probably worth a late r2/3 and we werent using 48 or 55 anyway.

In reality its two late 2nds (cooper and 38) and a future 2nd for henry.
Not a steal but not terrible. Its ok.

Mackie nailed it. Wright saved face on the Henry deal by having the deals combined. I don't really know why the Hawks were punting Mitchell with only one year left on his contract, but they had their reasons for selling him cheap - unless Stephens is good?

10 out of 10 for the Cats. Not sure on the other two. Depends on Mitchell - seems too good a deal might be buyer beware, although McRae has worked with him before?

Anyway Pies have improved their 22 and added much needed depth.

Cats set themselves up beautifully for the future, but slightly backwards next year with Selwood gone. Bring on next season.

So we went from Henry threatening to go to the draft, and the Pies losing him for nothing if we don’t accept 25, to then getting 25 AND a Brownlow Medalist for a kid who was OOC, that Cats fans thought they might get for just pick 25.

In the end, instead of getting him for nothing, they lose a kid who was drafted at pick 16 as a midfielder - who just had his first injury free season.

Mind you, this was after a spiel that midfielders are the priority, so Henry is ‘less important’. You end up giving up this young midfielder (who some of your supporters were rating as equal to Henry) WITH 25 for Henry.

You couldn’t have written this if you’d tried

I think you are using the principle that anything that any random Geelong fan has ever said is attributable to all Geelong fans.

Since you effectively got us Mitchell for free, we might just take your 25 (which you paid overs for anyway) and the 27 we got the keep instead of sending to Hawthorn and upgrade it to a first rounder.

And yes midfielders are important but we have lots of them and we are likely to get another good mid at #7 in a few weeks. We have other areas of the list with more issues than that
