port's op:

"If you think Charlie Dixon giving away a free kick and 50 metre penalty inside our forward line with 20 seconds left when we were only a goal down was a bad idea then that just shows your lack of intelligence and what you know about the game - and it's very very little. Take a good look at yourselves".

It's a pisstake on Hinkley-speak.

Love Port supporters when they go nuts on Hinkley and have been for 18 months. Good laugh.

when you've got nothing left to blame for your own shitness - off the * board:

"That s**t decision from Leigh Fischer not paying a 50m against Greene when Zerk had a kick from the opposition goal square changed the momentum of the game. If you want a single moment, that was it. Do your job and identify you *ed up and we'd be in a different boat imho".

Yep, * were well on their way to making the finals before that decision.

we all talk about 17 - this is how saints supporters talk:

"I’d almost look at what we can get for Max. The pressure of being a saints born and bred supporter and carrying us to number two is too much for him. It may never work out. Sad as it seems".

From the Essendon Autopsy thread:
I think it comes down to the no dickhead recruiting policy continually giving us Dave Myers or Dyson Heppell etc as leaders.
We could have easily drafted Luke Parker or Jack Graham (both players I am on record as saying we should have picked before the draft) but we only seen to draft those types in rookie drafts or mid season so you get average players like Snelling or Geulfi as your leaders but no top end leaders that can pick the side up and carry them when needed.
We really are 100% flat track bullies.
Does Jake Stringer, Devon Smith not count?

From the * board
"Clarkson could show up with all 6 infinity stones and it still wont make a *in difference."

So that must be the famous * bravery I keep hearing about.

Not sure if Henry is gonna get a gig this week.. but he's a star in the making. Similar type to Curnow. Henry is a more dangerous player though.. a Marco Van Basten type.. whereas Curnow is more your Donny Van Der Beek type. If they were both playing in the same side as KPF's.. Henry would be the Mav.. Curnow the Goose

From a Richmond fan on the main board, in the thread about our salary cap:
I actually think Carlton will be planning to let McKay go next year. He’s pretty useless at ground level, provides no forward pressure, and very rarely kicks the goals that really matter. Whilst I realise McGovern only has one year left, i just can’t see how paying everyone including McKay is possible…conservative estimates for the 2024-25 years when all these players are under contract:

Cripps: $800k
Williams: $750k
Curnow: $750k
Saad : $650k
Cerra: $700k
Hewett: $450k
Weitering: $700k
Walsh: $800k

So that’s ballpark $5.5m on 8 x players. Then you need to pay Docherty, McKay and DeKoning.

By end of 2023 DeKoning won’t be less than $500k/season, and potentially a lot more if he develops again. Docherty will require $500k+. And McKay will be offered $800k + elsewhere.

So even if you said the low end, it’s another $1.8m for those 3. So $7.3m for 11 players in 2024 and 2025.

For this reason I think someone will be squeezed out and I reckon it will be McKay. I wouldn’t even be surprised if they pulled the trigger this year as they’d get a draft bonanza rather than a compo pick of let’s call it pick-12 next season.

From a Richmond fan on the main board, in the thread about our salary cap:
That guy floats between reasonable posts and borderline trolling, but I don't see too much wrong with this one.
He's probably one of the few oppo posters who I reckon has come pretty close to the mark on the player contracts. The main one I'd disagree with is Cerra, who is supposedly closer to the $600k mark (and according to some, possibly under that).

The belief by some that we won't, or can't, lose some of our decent players along the way is just wishful thinking. The reality is that it's more likely to happen, than not happen. Not sure I agree that Harry will be the one we lose though, and I certainly don't think we are planning to let him go.

There's no way that we didn't plan Cripps, Walsh, Weiters, Charlie, etc, while factoring in Harry's next deal. The question will simply come down to whether Harry wants to chase a max deal, or fit in with the others and take unders to keep the core of the team together.
It's not an unreasonable post in my view.

I did say 'not too much wrong with it'. I also stated that I don't think we're planning to get rid of him, but was commenting on the post as a whole.
Apart from using the word useless, what's particularly wrong with it? He isn't great at ground level (not a lot of 200+cm players are) and apart from the occasional run down tackle, his forward pressure isn't great (again, not a lot of 200+cm do have it), and he's prone to some poor misses - this year in particular.

I love him and I think he'll stay and I think he'll be back to his best next year, but let's not be overly precious because somebody points out things we prefer to brush over.

That poster is only a troll

I love seeing AFL supporters losing their minds trying to come up with how much they think a player is on because AFL salaries aren’t public. Hilarious seeing those idiots stumbling over themselves.

Patrick Cripps is on between $800,000 and $1,000,000 dollars, Adam Saad is on between $675,000 and $815,000, Sam Walsh is on between $900,000 and $1.1 million dollars…..” 😂
