That screams insecurity to me. Perhaps there was something not quite adequate about breaking the drought away from the MCG, having to watch it on the couch whilst being in lockdown, instead of the experience we were treated to on oct 1st and 2nd 2016. Usually it's the losing side that becomes obsessed & salty.

It does make me grateful that we got our drought breaker before covid.

Yep, know some obnoxious Dees supporters who overstepped the mark after the GF. So I happily reminded them I got to see ours live, then kick on that night and front up to WO the next day. Glad they missed out on all of that.

Aside from frees, Dunkley took 2 clear marks in Q1 that were not paid, while many lesser efforts were paid later in the game. The sooner the AFL replaces umpires with robots, the better.

Every time I talk footy with the Melb supporters I know, I am going to highlight that I got to see my team win live, and celebrate it the very next day.

Congratulated one of them after the GF last year, I didn't mention that we were missing Bruce. Text this morning "yeah, good win, but if Lever had been playing, blah, blah, blah"
Didn't reply, just deleted them from FB and my phone contact list. I feel better already.

After the GF last year I got a text from someone I haven’t seen or spoken to for years, Melbourne supporter. Started out ok, I offered congratulations etc, then the jibes and laughing emojis started. I ceased responding and have now blocked this person.

When we won in 2016 I was too happy to even care about other teams or their supporters.

It like they want to start some kind of rivalry with us, I mean we are one all, we got in first and beat them in 1954, if a rivalry was going to start it would have been back then. Our rivalry is with GWS, there is history between us going back years, not one year flash in the pan.

Yeah it's strange some of CD's reports still list it as "Holding the man" while others say "Holding the person", presumably this changed following the introduction of the AFLW.

Should just be "Holding" in my opinion.
