Did you read Studley Snr? He says our season is owing to the injury list... Groundbreaking stuff, Stud.

The people in charge of the “high performance” regime? Silence.

Can’t lose that club ambassador status.
In Craig's last couple of years we always had just enough injuries that we couldn't realistically expect him to win matches. But not quite enough injuries to question his fitness regimen. Treading that fine line bought him an extra 12 months.

Craigy's mantra was you push them until they break then you know that's the limit. So he'd break one or two and then back off.

From what I gather from googling (so hardly an informed opinion) there's mixed opinions, though a lot of sources that say rest only helps relieve pain because you're just not doing anything, but doesn't actually do anything to fix the cause of the tendinitis. I imagine that since Fagan said Knight has had issues with this before (and he did mention he's had injections previously, so I guess that would be cortisone like you had), and all our other hamstring injuries, they've decided to maybe try and nip the issue in the bud now, rather than rush him back.

Though one Google bit did say

So I guess we could maybe put that on Burton and his mis-use of the KangaTech stuff again.
Googling is standard on here. Who knows what googling does

He has tendonitis which is a bitch of a thing. I've had it in my achilles and it's not an injury you can rest and recover. Tellingly it's an overuse injury which points to Burton and Hass not using KangaTech properly, because that tech is supposed to mitigate overuse. Bloody idiots.

It would be interesting to hear what Gibson thinks of our fitness department and their use of KangaTech after coming from North Melbourne.

Honestly, Stud is on my list of so called journos I don't read, unless someone points out something of interest.

Went senile years ago!

I have no doubt that a club employee got on the blower and requested a supportive article.

I’ll say it again; the spate of injuries was apparently due to us pushing the limits to reach a new level of fitness...

So, forgetting the half of the team that is or was injured; why the hell are we so unfit?!

Craig pushed the limits a bit too far at times, but by Christ, we were fitter than anyone.

This season, we look like one of the least fit sides in the comp.

The thing is, the preseason is just so damned important. It sets you up for the year. In season training is about recovery and injury management. Stuff up your preseason to the extent that we did, and it's almost impossible to turn it around and you end up.with a domino effect.

They should spend the break preparing the players for next year. It will take them that long to undo the damage that was done.

I think we've badly over reacted to the grand final loss. Instead of putting it down to going in too tall, taking in injured players then match injuries, some bad umpiring and having an off day, we decided to blame the playing group for being mentally and physically soft. To compound this we've hired amateurs who've proceeded to break the players bodies and spirits.

Port took years to recover from 119, we may do the same.

As well as the things already mentioned, it's pretty clear the GF and subsequent mind training ****ed the players.

After that debacle very few players were willing to put in the required off season training and fitness work.

This seems to fit with reports we were unfit returning to pre season. Compound that with more mind ****ing, over training, injury mismanagement and you suddenly have a cooked, unfit squad

Does anyone know if Steve Saunders works at the Crows?

Heard an baseless rumour that we hired him back from Melbourne on a training plan rejected by other clubs.

No idea who he is though so hard to verify.

Steve Saunders is the North Melbourne guy who created Kangatech.

Was head of their fitness for a number of years, but is now a consultant with them. Pretty sure he was originally from Adelaide ?
