Yze has been involved in tactical planning and opposition scouting for Hawthorn...
I think that's awesome. Was always critical of Pyke's ability to assess where things were falling apart and make changes.
Yze also involved as a kicking coach at Hawthorn.

I like the sound of this.
Head of March day strategy and opposition, I like it
He was a specialist skills coach too
Head of Match Day Strategy & Opposition, and Specialist Skills Coach, at the most successful club of the modern era.

Nice.

Don't know much about Yze at all, but I really like the idea of a tactical coach!

There were twitter rumours that if Kingsley gets the job he wants to bring MaCrae in as his right hand man.

AFC: "Sorry we can't afford both MaCrae and you, Adam, but we've got a ready-made right hand man for you already at the club, Adam, meet Campo".

Also AFC: "One more thing, never suggest not picking David Mackay in his presence".

maybe macrame and kingsley are in the final candidates so made a pact that if one got it they would demand the other was their senior assistant ensuring they are both winners of come description (assuming the senior assistant gets a nice pay bump)!

If we have a shortlist of macrae, kingsley, yze and nicks we have a decent shot at turning this thing around. Kingsley and macrae sound like great options. Yze is one from left field but i like it.

Fingers crossed we can also nail a senior assistant/head of football out of that list as well.

I'd have all of Nicks, Kingsley and Yze at the Crows

Head Coach
Senior Assistant (Campo's role)
Forwards Coach (Hart's role)

Take your pick boys. We have spots to fill everywhere

I like the sound of all three, plus McRae, but I don’t understand what a senior assistant does - sounds like a role without any clear accountability.

Unless someone is being developed to take over as senior coach (eg Rutten at the Bombers), there should be line coaches and a strategy/oppo analysis coach. That’s it, with development coaches underneath.

How can anyone have inside info?
There are four guys making the decision.

Anyone who has been part of hiring staff, for a decent sized profesional organisation with a proper process, will tell you that you dont talk about it outside of that group.

All these talking heads saying they have inside word are actually suggesting the guys in charge of this process are unprofessional and discussing the candidates outside of the panel.

Would an AFL club really do that?
