Noble and Richards will never be AA calibre.

I’d rather a top 3 calibre player in the team than 2 players fighting out to be in the bottom 6 players in a best 22.

Agree Houston is a gun. But I think you are underestimating the importance of JFN to our game style. And Richards was developing very nicely. Players don't need to be AA calibre to be super important to a team

J Daics played much better football at HB than Wing this year.

I prefer Jaicos to go back to his AA position on the wing next season. We can do that now with the AA HB in HOUSTON there !!!!....️️️️

I know he only played a couple of games this year, but surely there would have been clubs who could have made grander promises to him in terms of game time than us?

I'm not against the move if we're bringing him in as depth, but would be a bit concerned if he's been sold the dream of playing seniors every week. I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep if we missed out.

Dan coming in would push Noble out of the 22. Richards is a fringe player who yes does have some potential, but even so this is a good deal for us.

Noble for pick in the 20’s
13 (will be 16ish) and pick in 20’s to port for Houston. Dual AA quarterback boot Houston?

If we leave the trade with our original draft hand of 36/39, 52, 55 essentially in place then it's basically:

F1, Noble, Richards for Houston.

I've always liked Noble but Houston is obviously superior.

We've then replaced Richards for a proven product in Perryman for no trade cost.

You could argue we've only paid a F1 in order to upgrade Noble with Houston.

So essentially our trade period will boil down to:

OUT: Noble, Richards, F1
IN: Perryman, Houston

That’s a win. Clearly an upgrade, at least in the near term.

Here’s hoping McGuane Jnr develops into a genuine top-10 prospect for next year’s draft and we can land a great free agent then too coz we’re going to lose a few to retirement in a year’s time.

I think the two clubs who most needed to stockpile picks this year (Brisbane and Essendon) are just about sorted. Our best option to squeeze value out of the other picks is to trade them into next draft I think.

Sounds like a draft where teams will pay a lot to move upwards on draft night for that bloke they can't believe is still available.

However, if they do this deal tomorrow, it'll mean that the clubs involved have more business that they're working on.
