On second thought all our picks in the 50's could probably drop into the 40's once the academy and f/s picks are sorted. Meaning we could try to convince a team with high second round pick to trade their pick for all our 3 picks.

That is also rubbing salt in his gaping wound

He wanted to go to Melbourne and then saw Petracca's issues and went

Im Out GIF
Honestly I think his manager had more to do with that decision than anything.

Trac is represented by Connors, it’s no coincidence one of his other high profile clients suddenly “changed their mind” about Melbourne after the way Melbourne treated him.

Who is he replacing in our forward line?
Aside from definitive injuries, we also have players who play with niggles.
He will enable us to rest players if required.
Checkers readily springs to mind as a perfect candidate for a rest.

I can't believe the trades that get done
- No way I trade Houston for less than 2x good 1st rounders
3 years under contract - sorry buddy, we'll do our best but you signed it
- No way I take the players West Coast did
If I was a member I'd be filthy
- No way I'd trade 12+14 for 3
Carlton need speed speed speed and they could have grabbed two options
If they take the guy I think they'll take at 3, that's perfect for us

It's like teams get caught up in making an offer, making a trade
They have no idea how to walk away from deals
They can't enforce contracts
They pay too much, they accept too little

I want to get into this industry

Ask yourself this. Why, when we had about 23 players available at one point, could he still not get a game.

I don't know if it's his tank, effort, GPS data, or just general game sense, but the coaches clearly think the guy is lacking something very important.

Otherwise the only other explanation for how a player with his physical attributes and age was bypassed by Sullivan, Bytel and Long is that the entire coaching staff are morons...
I just think it's simply game sense. He doesn't get himself in the right spots.

What's been Hayes's story since he killed us that day - has he played footy since?
He was good in the SANFL and had a few games in his first year before injuries killed him. It's a long shot but if his body is right he would be a very handy KF forward for us.

Essendon, brisbane and gold coast have about 11 picks in the second round and third round before our first pick. If they all get used up their respective bids, we are looking at multiple picks in the 40's. That should hopefully be enough to put us in a position to get up to the 24,25,26 range.

I think they're stockpiling more than they need so they get their later picks in a decent range.
