True - but it’s all about risk management. And big trades can’t go pear shaped as well? Beams, Hannebery, Jackson to Freo, Grundy to Melbourne, O’Meara, Lobb and McCarthy at Freo, Hopper
Package our 3 remaining picks 52, 55 & 58 to trade in Harley Reid & pick 12So what are the predictions for what may happen before the deadline today for us?
Houston might take his spot, but that doesn’t means IQ is now expendable- he was great playing in the midfield late in the season.Any chance we might put someone like Quaynor on the trade table today to try and get back into this year's draft?
Yep. pick 12 will go out due to academy selections and the picks in the 50s will come in due to matching picks - so it looks balanced to me.Package our 3 remaining picks 52, 55 & 58 to trade in Harley Reid & pick 12
Why would we trade one of our emerging guns?I think Allan would be the only chance.
Why would we reduce our midfield depth when we will inevitably lose both Pendles and Sidebottom in 12 months, and Jordy can never be relied upon to have an injury free season? What could we get for Lipinski?
I reckon he’ll struggle to get a game next season with Perryman and Houston coming in, Mitchell and DeGoey back and, hopefully, further development of Allan.

Makes me wonder why Saints aren't re-signing him?Agree, he'd also provide an ability to rotate forward/back with Howe if we need to mix things up, he's an excellent reader of the play and he has very good hands. Adds to our ability to control the play (good extra back when we want to slow down the game, handy forward when we want to press) - reckon he's one player who would benefit significantly from a Houston 60m bomb.
We have Markov, Crips and even HD.Would like us to add some speed at half back, Jiath maybe that player in time.
While Houston provides run, he’s a different type to Noble. Taller and relies on his size to break lines instead of pace.
A moron he may be. I’m on record as saying I’m concerned about the year after next. Big concerns about the cliff.
He likes him because he’s elite at hitting targets inside 50.Fly loves lipinski for some reason, he isn't going anywhere. Plus we don't have that many wingers with phenomenal endurance.
Do we think Membrey gets traded to us today?

What's been Hayes's story since he killed us that day - has he played footy since?I'm assuming we wait for him to be delisted?
I'm really hoping we grab Hayes. But I wish we could find out how his medical went
I won't budge on him being a potential great pick up

Yes, fair point. With our new recruits, I see Lippa on the fringe of our Best 23, along with Sidebottom, WHE, McCreery, Allan and Harrison (once recovered). Injuries will probably ensure that all of them get regular games in the seniors. Why would we reduce our midfield depth when we will inevitably lose both Pendles and Sidebottom in 12 months, and Jordy can never be relied upon to have an injury free season?
Posts like this are a cause for celebration. On all time draft misfires I would like to reflect on the Scum’s 2017 draft
Had two picks in the Top 10 and they got Dow at 3 and O’Brien at 10 for the Gibbs trade. One now playing for Sandy and the other out of the league at 25.
