In all fairness to Apex though he hasn't got a Apex thoughts thread has he
If pexy ever starts a thoughts thread, I'd be too afraid to read it and I probably wouldn't understand it. Credit to pexy though, he knows his stuff and really shines during this time of year

I'd shift your dreams elsewhere.

Things may change if Jordys issues are ongoing, but I can't see us spending huge on a star attacking mid when we've already got two of them - you need a balanced midfield.
I do think we're more likely to target an Ed Richards than LDU. WB will find it hard to match FA offers given their salary cap.

You would backend it though for 3-4 years time when JDG/Moore/Maynard are 32/33 and no longer commanding peak contracts. Apart from Daicos, we don't have many under 25s that will command big contracts so we can use that talent gap to attract a FA in that age bracket.
This is true, I'm just unsure if we'd be able to compete with what I imagine will be a mammoth North offer. I would imagine Richards as a more likely target

Since we are good at stealing potential recruits from other clubs, why not double down?

The Giants keeping Derksen this year might be a blessing in disguise. Why not get in his ear now and try to lure him when he’s out of contract next year?

Might only cost us a late 2nd/early 3rd.

Maybe he can make Cadman obsolete

good to hear we are done.
Absolutely nothing left to "improve us" that requires a trade.

Dev is no upgrade on what we have.
Absolutely not worth it (even if we had picks).

Just shut up shop and see where it all lands.

see what pick trades we can make between now and draft.
If we can't do anything, i'm fine with that.

Fill our NEXT YEAR KP needs via SSP period.
Not DFA (main list & multi year contracts) or pointless "sight unseen Rookie draft".

Bring Membrey, Hayes etc into the SSP period to trial for a rookie spot (1 year contracts).
If Hayes breaks down during the SSP period, don't sign him. Learn that lesson from Eyre this year.

Gives us the KP depth next year (and maybe beyond if Hayes in particular can get on the park).

Gives us list room next year by carrying 1 year rookies and lets us fill in depth holes as needed.

Makes sense from a list management perspective but I think we’ll struggle to get two firsts for Quaynor after sport struggled to get that for Houston.
Port themselves (Davies) said they were a victim of circumstance. Houston is worth more than they got for him. Wouldn't use that deal as a market-setting trade.

Just depends on the buyer.

Just need to double check w you Manic that it’s NFL that has list sizes of 53, not AFL

Now, what am i hearing about Jackson Callow?
Callow wasn't one of mine unfortunately, as much as I'd like to take the credit. We'll get Membrey, plenty of ways to fit him in.

You’d be shocked if we didn’t have $1.5m in cap space over the next 8 years after investing $1.8m + on Houston and Perryman for the next 6 years? I think you might have mixed up what would shock you…

Treloar payments stopping
Pendles retirement
Steele retirement
Cox retirement
Howe retirement

Don't think cap space will be an issue
