Watching this Trading Day show on Fox and gee Ralphy hates us. Kingy and Montagna saying how good Houston is and how we are right in the mix to win the flag. And then Ralphy cuts them off to start talking about Perryman's contract and how Naicos is our only u25 player with a "positive rating" 😂😂😂
Because champion data ratings are well known for their accuracy in measuring players skill.

Is Mason Cox still rated elite by them? 😂

Ralphy also called Perryman a “fringe player”

Lol we told Stringer the reason we decided against bringing him in was because he didn't fit our age profile.

Membrey though 😂

I'm a Membrey fan and all for it.
Something he’s apparently pretty picky about.

Who says we told Stringer that?

Maybe we told him he was fat and had unsavoury gangland connections

Wow just wow… has anyone seen the fox article of the “winners” and “ losers” of trade period…

Have a read and love to see your thoughts as to what I am getting at!!

Ps for some reason I can’t paste the link… try the below if it works?

A second round pick is seen as roughly equal to 2 third rounders. So more in the realistic frame rather than a pipe dream.
Okay but the only teams that need points would have already matched bids so they wouldn't be interested in a pick swap for points, the best we can do is get pick 31 from brisbane or pick 34 from the dons

I think the hatred stems from the days when he was cast as the king’s fool under the reign of the benevolent King Ed of Broadmeadows

Only if the club trading for them needs points, and pretty much every club who needs points has enough already for the draft, except maybe Brisbane, and there are other clubs who have more appealing picks for them to trade for.
You’re living in fantasy land.

Its not about points. If a lot of the picks in the second and third round get gobbled up in the f/s and academy bids the clubs beneath those picks will shift up. Given the spread of Brisbane, esendon and Gc picks, it is possible clubs will shift up by atleast 10 spots.

As the bids happen it pushes the talent further down the draft order. Now there are less clubs competiting for those talent as they have traded their picks to clubs needing points, picks which will get get swallowed up depending on how many points are needed.

So if there is a club sitting in the mid to late 20's and notices that there is a very good chance it can pick up multiple players who they rate highly , they can trade down acquire more picks and pick multiple players.

Which is what i was suggesting Collingwood may look at come draft night. Of course it would require finding the right trading partner, but it is a possibility.

Pretty sure the teams that need points have already well and truly secured their hand for bid matches in the upcoming draft, so it's firmly back into pipe dream territory again.

The musing about a club wanting to downgrade to get multiple picks in at what will probably be 10-15+ picks later (hoping the players they want are still there) and in the process pass on selecting on a more highly rated talent (on their draft board) just isn't a thing on draft night.

Those picks will come in by about 10 spots, and as it's a deep draft, we may find a diamond in the rough.
What's the stats for pick 58, 2 Brownlow Medallists and 2 premiership players?
Generally the Pies make a list of all players in order of where we see them, they are then crossed off the list as we go along and we always take our highest rated at the pick.
Dropping 20 or so spots isn’t a disaster as there is usually someone who falls through that we would have taken at 36 anyway but we getting them or the next best at our current pick.
This is how Hine finds the gems he does late.
Overall we have done an absolutely terrific this trade period.

I know they hate us but pretty crap!
The commentary is well over the top. In reality, Leppa had to hold his rag and stay calm in negotiating with the worst of fools. In doing so he achieved an almost unthinkable outcome for us. To have the situation portrayed as Connor rode in on his white steed is miserable and pathetic

How can we not be 1 of the Winners?

No Idea

It is not about points, it is about accruing more talent if the teams draft board fall their way on draft night. It is more a live trading play rather than pre draft trade.

It is quite obvious you lack the imagination to understand the concept of live draft day trading .
