Not a great time to bottom out with Tassie coming into the comp.
We are going to bottom out with Nick in our team. A generational talent.

I expect we will see a number of high draft picks come our way over the next 5 years. Our older players will fall away quickly now and there seems to be precious little to replace them with.
We did the same with Buckley. We are going to bottom out with Nick in our team. A generational talent.

Hopefully we find a way to stay in contention.

2004-05It’s been 25 odd years since we’ve stayed down the bottom for a while.
And we won’t this time either.
2004-05
Are you agreeing that Collingwood don’t stay down the bottom for long?2 years after playing in grand finals a couple of years before and into a prelim by 2007 and a flag in 2010.

Cool, but it’s not 25 years since Collingwood were down the bottom. That’s what I originally said so would I need to agree to it?

“It’s been 25 odd years since we’ve stayed down the bottom for a while.”
That’s what I wrote, referring to the 90’s.
2004/2005 isn’t for a while.
Happened just 10 years ago 2014 to 2017 seasons were all bottom 6 finishes.
I was on the boundary line at Waverley in the 90s when we had players like Luke Godden running around. I had a wtf day watching that mess and Bucks having to play in itUnfortunately for Bucks it came to late. Imagine injecting prime Bucks into 2010/11 team a team largely built through the Draft.
Would of won 3 in a row.
Recruiting Identification and development improved over Buckley's years too.
The talent ID and draft was not as good in mid to late 90s vs mid 00s.
The 80's weren't much betterYou guys must be young.
Fans that witnessed the 90’s don’t even remember 2014-2017.
Things turn around very quickly with a well-run club. Look at our performance over last 20 years we have only bottomed out for 3-4 years max at any one time and have always been back in contention very quickly. FFS we just won a flag with a list we knew was ageing. I remember many said we were in for a decade of pain after the salary cap disaster of 2021, two years later flag time.I think club will reload for a crack in 2025 and then we will go to the draft. McQuane might be the mid we are looking for to complement Nick.
You know what I totally agree with this, in 2021 with the disaster trade period, salary cap issues and our coaching dilemma I do recall everyone thinking we were MILES off. Even I thought at least 5 years away from contending, things change very very fast in this game and it doesn't takIe much.
Whilst I don't think it will be 2025 again, give us a few years and we might be right up there again
1997-99 the Shaw years, fair enough.“It’s been 25 odd years since we’ve stayed down the bottom for a while.”
