Frost isn't leaving. In fact, it was mentioned Hawks might even add an extra year to his deal.
We'll prob get Tomlinson lol

Never say never Jen, he's basically consigned to VFL duties now so we should be getting in his manager's ear and trying to sell him on coming over to be clear best 22 with a 2-3 year deal (maybe third year on triggers).

He's still definitely fit and quick enough to do the job for us for at least a couple of years and he's exactly what we need right now, if we are still thinking about being flag contenders.

Our tall defensive stocks look like the weakest link in our chain for season 2025 IMO.

Outside of Moore, you've got the bluest of blue collar options in Frampton and the still unknown quantity of Dean and Eyre who may or may not be on our list next year..

In the medium tall stocks we've got Howe, Maynard and not much else that is yet proven.

Tomlinson has played 185 career games and his opportunity at Melbourne has been impacted due to the presence of May, Lever, McDonald and Petty.

He'll cost nothing in terms of trade, little in salary and will provide experienced depth in an area of need.

While a strong case could be made for taking a midfielder should we gain pick 12 from the GC (I wont complain if we do), if you take a look at our list we're really in need of Tomlinson and 1 or 2 KPP prospects taken at the draft with the likes of Johnson and Kreuger unlikely to make the grade and Reef still in line to be de-listed.

Hopefully a Perryman, McGuane and a FA signing or two across this season and next can take care of our midfield needs in the short to medium term.

Petty played more forward this season?

If Tomlinson was good enough he could have become a regular. Imo he is a lot clogger.

What role do you see Tomlinson playing?

If we wanted an old defender then you may as well have had a crack at Haynes. At least at his best Haynes was elite. Tomlinson has never been elite.

I don't think so. I reckon the Lions have a number of x factor players and it's hard to imagine a day when not one of them gets off the leash at some stage. I don't think the extra game is a problem now that there is that break at the end of the home and away season. Sydney definitely favorites but I think the Lions will make a fight of it and could cause an upset.

I'd love to see Fagan get a flag. What a gentleman.
Certainly, in any two horse race between Longmanure and Fagan, Fagan is supreme.

But yeah, I like Fagan too. He strikes me as a very good coach, highly competitive, but kind as well.

Nope, I don't think he's suggesting that we never pick any kids in the draft, more a reference for if there is a player available that makes us better that we can trade for then that will be our first goal.

We are just leveraging off one of our advantages of a big club, in that some players want the big game experiences.
If you listen to him you’d get the opinion that he does prefer the recycled players than the kids, that’s why I posted this.

Still got 2 Weeks for Welcome Thread but Guess Start a Player Watch Thread

Been Told off about Going to Early with Welcome Threads Before
Youre a wise man TD, best to do things in the right order, and we rely on your steady hand in these matters.

As the song says, "Don't welcome Perryman, don't even start the thread, don't welcome Perrynan, till we get him in the Black and White"

Given Sid's brother is Arlo, I am not sure whether this reflects well on the club, badly or completely irrelevant. I dont know whether it reflects badly on Sid fearing being dealt badly or more Adelaide putting a young player off joining them or both. https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/a...b/news-story/3b087df5166cae89037bde7aaba58060

Sid is an elite player. Good kid. Who wouldn’t want to come to a big vic club he’s destined for greater things than being stuck in Adelaide. But there is more of a proper story here.

That's the best version of the song that we've had on BF so far

I think he is suggesting we don’t go the Richmond rebuild way and use every pick for that draft. But maybe something like 2022 where we go through FA and cheap trades. You can’t get out of not drafting kids. But think he means it should be a combination of both as he then talks about giving kids opportunities next year.

Losing their ruckman and having to travel 3 weeks straight, not to mention history from trying to win it outside the 8 is against them. I reckon the swans midfield is better and their defence is elite. It's going to get ugly
It’s going to be fascinating watching it play out right in front of me on Saturday.

Number of premiership teams coached by Fly 1. Number of premiership teams coached by Aussie pie 0. Whatever his strategy it seems to stack up!

It’s also worth noting we’ve taken a 1st Rd pick at each draft since Fly arrived 🤷‍♂️

hope you have the bestest day. Are you going early to watch tom
Unfortunately not. I’m kicking off with the Grand Final Breakfast at Crown. Kicking myself that I’ll miss watching him now.
