AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Depends on the number of quality under 25 players you consider we currently have on the books. So going by all experts we have good 2025 and Maybe 2026 but after that we be a Bottom 4 Side?
No correction required.Correct me if I’m wrong here, but my understanding is that our current senior list has 33 on it after the delistings of AJ and Markov?
You're right. That's good. We do get to keep 66. As we technically have 5 vacancies.I've just been told that even though we've committed to AJ and Markov, right now and up until the rookie draft itself they aren't on our list. So for all intents and purposes, we have extra spots for the senior list technically (we just won't use them).
Thats right
That seems to me to be 5 ND picks even though we all know we’ll be taking 3. Essentially there’s nothing stopping us from drafting both AJ and Markov in the ND on top of the three live picks aside from stupidity. No correction required.
If they have even nominated for the ND, and if I'm correct, we'd have to give them a 2 year contract. That seems to me to be 5 ND picks even though we all know we’ll be taking 3. Yes they have nominated. They have to be eligible for the rookie draft. But the club said they'll select them in the rookie draft if they are available. If they have even nominated for the ND, and if I'm correct, we'd have to give them a 2 year contract.
I'm not sure if that's the case if we redraft them in the rookie draft.
I don't think we'd want to offer either of them another 2 years.
Can someone enlighten me?
It's inclyde all their salary in the salary cap. Not happening. If they have even nominated for the ND, and if I'm correct, we'd have to give them a 2 year contract.

It's beside the point, Scodog was being facetious. The point is that on the National Draft nights, Markov and Johnson are not officially on our list. Yes we have made a commitment to them in the Rookie Draft, and we will honour that commitment, but it's about maintaining flexibility to have more than 3 draft picks so that we can do pick trades that could be advantageous to us.If they have even nominated for the ND, and if I'm correct, we'd have to give them a 2 year contract.

Exactly. We have 33 senior list and can have up to 38 or 5 picks in the ND.It's beside the point, Scodog was being facetious. For all intents and purposes the spare Cat B spot doesn't really matter in this case.Exactly. We have 33 senior list and can have up to 38 or 5 picks in the ND.
We currently have 4 cat A rookies and 1x cat b rookie .
Maximum 44 players on your list.
We can take 5 picks to the ND and don’t have to use them. This giving us flexibility to do trades live in the ND.
Currently we are only taking 4 to the ND so we can add one on the night live. Noting this will be done around bid matching and opportunity.
I’d say we are looking at trading 52/56 for a pick in the early 40’s, thus leaving us back with 3 picks in the ND.
Currently we have capacity in the ND and RD to add 6 players. With 2 of those being Rookie promises for Markov / AJ . That leaves 4 spots with a mix of at least 3 having to be ND
It's really about salary cap. This is an added bonus - if we do manage to trade up in the draft. It's beside the point, Scodog was being facetious.
