See, he meant that setup. After taking the wicket, he signalled in his celebration that that was the straight one, the overspinner. He’s not shown a lot in his career to date, to be honest. Reliable but unremarkable

Anyone above a certain level of cricket as a spinner should have setups, but that was a degree of execution that you don't see all that often.
I forgot about that start!well done to the west indies.
never seen a test match like it - great comeback from 8/54 after the first 16 overs of the match !
Unless he has another speed, he looks a bit too slow through the air for his variations to get through the batsman unless the pitch is exaggerating the variations.Absolutely just saying that in his test career previously he’s not shown a hell of a lot when there hasn’t been much on offer.
I hope Michael Vaughan is watching this

It's the same with seaming decks. India had one good bowler for old fashioned Aussie pitches with less seam movement. Aussies would have killed India. India wouldn't have been able to skittle us with one good bowler. The workload on Bumrah would have been enormous and he would have been worn out by the third test - leaving a massive gulf in the bowling. That's the problem with home teams preparing tracks designed for their spinners - visiting teams have spinners too.
And you are banking on your spinners and batsmen outperforming their visiting counterparts. And it doesn't always work out that way.
As they say in the classics - if anyone can, Warrican.
I used to think that, but doesn't worry me at all anymore - I like games on dodgy tracks where the batsmen are never really set. And also I don't think it's an advantage at the moment. When teams move away from their typical home conditions, they're giving up their home condition advantage. As long as teams don't fear the oppositions spinners and seamers and move to boring draw pitches, I'm happy.Justice.
**** pitch doctoring.

Yeah, the novelty factor may wear off soon. But at the same time are you happy matches finishing in 2 days? They're over so fast that it doesn't feel like a test match...You don't get the proper ebbs & flows of a longer game

This is why the West Indies shouldn't be relegated to a second division of test cricket, great fightback, Pakistan on the other hand.
Neither should in all honesty.
