I would have, but Connors clearly stated it was out of Adelaide and Geelong, and he would be the second person I would ask behind PD himself.

I wouldn't trust Connor's as far as I could kick him. I wouldn't believe anything until it happens, could be all smoke & screen like aka Buddy.

Totally different to Buddy, would rather PD's integrity than Buddys anyday of the week. You may be right, but the people you must listen to on this deal is PD or Connors the rest especially all the media are reporting on rumours only. Geelong and the AFC would have some idea but both are keeping their cards very close to their chest> Since Trigg has left our clubs the leaks dont exist anymore, with Roo a lot more demanding of its staff and what he expects, he is that type of character, no different to how he played.

I don't see how its totally different at all.. just because you go for Adelaide you're stuck in that mindset of believing the player & his manager... his manager can say whatever on Dangers behalf, but what is reliable is what Dangerfield decides at seasons end & what actually happens. Its not wrong to say that Dangers & The Hawks or Pies have made a deal but keeping it on the downlow, as if it was Hawks he'd get criticized alot

TBH if he decides to leave I dont care where it is as long as we get the best compensation possible. Rucci was sprouting we shhould get the same as Judd to carlton with two picks in the top 20 and a kennedy type. I am a realist and expect either two first rounders or one first rounder and a quality player. Geelong will have a first rounder and motlop or they could trade motlop and get us two first rounders, I actually think a deal can be done there. And before you say Judd wasnt an RFA, all the AFC need to do is match an offer and Danger has the same guidlines in terms of leaving the club as Judd did. With Adelaide already paying a large contract to Dangerfield I really doubt they cant manage to top it up to match any offer on the table.

So are you saying we don't read into what Adelaide has said about not paying overs for Dangerfield... because that can backfire big time if you match the offer from another club. Also if Dangers chose to move back because he wants to go home, it'd be a dog act.

You are putting words into the AFC clubs mouths, as I said Adelaide have said nothing of that they are a closed book, Roo has changed the way Adelaide are doing business. They wont do a Sydney though, who would? They will pay what ever he is worth, any club that really wants him should and will pay $1-1.2 Mill and I would say every club in the bid can afford that especially Adelaide considering at least half of that is already in their current cap.

Like i said if he has made up his mind to go, we wont need to match, PD will not risk going into the PSD and will want an assurance that he has a water tight guarantee of getting to where he wants with a zero chance of something that could stop this. There is only one way this can occur. PD is the main instigator here not the clubs and will want an iron clad guarantee.

Buddy almost got that 100% guarantee by Sydneys friggen ridiculous offer, can you see any of the clubs involved being as stupid and irresponsible as Sydney?

We'll see what goes down anyway... Crows would still have interest in Tim O'Brien...

So PSD won't be in play for Dangerfield but will be in play for Carlisle ! Your logic has me confused.

Carlisle is not in the FA window .
Dangerfield is .
If Carlisle nominates Carlton , the PSD is very much in play with Carlton every chance of finishing last and definitely the lowest placed Melbourne based club .
If Dangerfield tried to get to Geelong via the PSD , just ask yourself , would he make it there ?
Would he get past all the club's lower on the ladder than Geelong ?

Tim obrien is not in Motlops class though we would try and acheive the best compensation possible, although Motlops salary might make him not worth the pick up, but he could be on traded.
I'm thinking Geelong could help Hawthorn bring Dangers, like Burgoyne deal with Essendon helping us

You could be right but there will be time constraints and have a feeling PD will want to have everything sewn up before making any announcement and trying to put a multiple deal together will take time. It could see PD turn and say if its all too hard Ill stay, so he wont be declaring anything until he knows he has a clear path.

I think he would have signed already if he was going to stay.

I tend to agree the time factor has me swaying towards leaving, the only thing which may make him change his mind if he cannot get that clear pathway to where he wants to go. He will not enter the PSD so a deal will need to be realised which you would think will happen unfortunatley.

I really liked how Clarko answered the media about Hawks link with Danger... played it with a straight bat & said we don't want to be in anyway apart of the media dribble & frenzy.

Apart from hell freezing over, there would have to be something MASSIVELY giant in it for us to help the Hawks get Danger. And im not sure there is a scientific instrument invented yet measuring size that could determine how big that thing that we got.

Go Catters

Eventually due to FA a cold and bold defection to the dark side in SA will happen and vice versa, it will just add to atmosphere and flavour of our Showdowns.

Wingard in a Crows jumper in 202x

Wingard hasn't came out and said he's not going to the Crows come next contract, this pretty much guarantees the move IMHO.

Seriously though, a defection will happen one day - but I think its going to be much much later than sooner. It will most likely be someone from the state who has been seriously shafted by the respected team or had a complete lack of opportunity and wants more game time or something to that extent. It'll be someone of Symes' calibre, in essence. The Taylor Walker rumours were the dumbest things I've heard in the media in a while from last year.

I have no idea if Danger is staying or going but I would be absolutely staggered that if he's going he doesn't go as a free agent.

Clubs will just engineer it that way. If Danger was going to be traded it needed to be last year.

There are just so many scenarios that come into play.

I don't want him to Geelong or Collingwood, either he stays at Adelaide or any other Victorian team, wouldn't mind him in the blue, would never happen though!

Please explain how they will engineer stopping adelaide from matching an offer. And they just won't doesn't explain it.

I repeat I'm not saying he will go or stay as I have no idea

1. We offer more than you can match. Most media outlets have said that the Geelong or Collingwood offer will be more than Adelaide can pay. You actually have to have the cap space too match. Be a good look to delist a player who actually wants to be there
2. We trade with the bottom or second bottom club to get their pick and tell Danger to just nominate for the draft. He's no longer your player from the end of this season.

Anyway the stats don't lie. If a player wants to leave then they go. Swings and roundabouts and Adel will definitely be on the receiving end of a SA guy coming home in the not to distant future.

Disagree on salary cap at we all have the same salary cap you may free up more by sacking some club legends but adelaide only need to up PD,s wage from around the 600k he would be already being paid. Could see Thompson maybe retiring this year and he was our highest paid player a couple of years ago at around $700k. If you talk media outlets Ling, Carey, Watson have all said a trade must take place but let's not talk media as they are often wrong

As for swapping a pick if I was Brisbane why the hell would I swap my pick for a hack when I could have PD if I don't If they finish last As Carlton did with Stevens although he wanted to go to the pies

I agree he will get where he wants to go but it will be an agreed trade we will get under what he is worth but it won't be a single first round pick
