Corbett's kicking was terrible so I can understand why he was wanting to pass it off, but his passes were terrible too.

Emmett looks a bit slow as well as lacking stamina and his kicking wasn't great either.

Draper looked good but I tend to think some are getting a bit carried away. It was Perth after all. He showed some good signs but I'll need to see more of him and more from him before I join the gushing bandwagon.

Superkoops assessment of Kuek is spot on imo. Hopefully he continues to develop and can become a very tall KF at the next level by the end of next year.

Henry was every bit a WAFL player despite the hype the commentator was giving him.

I'm a fan of Worners but yesterday wasn't his best game. He's a bit soft or outside and knows where to be to get the ball and presents well but wasted too much of it yesterday by being to casual, rushing or just taking the wrong option.

I strongly believe that Erasmus now has to start developing at the next level by playing through a few positions including short stints as an inside mid.
I pretty much agree with all of these, particularly your concerns on most players. Worner has disposals that are Dawson level of bad, like he hits it how he wants but misses the target by 10m. At the very least I would be deadset against him and Wagner being in the team together, feels like a critical mass of poor disposal.

Emmet has Schultz level effort and knows where to be but I do worry about the speed. Doesn’t look quite good enough for his role.

Draper moves and had the composure of someone who is a cut above. Some of his kicks were fantastic and at his height is a fantastic prospect and I’ve seen enough to be excited especially given the club rates him highly as well by the looks

I like Davies composure when being tackled and I’ve noticed him being an absolute dickhead to oppo players which I love in my defenders but he is a long long way off the top team. That’s all good, has time

I don't have any issue as to where Davies is at at the moment. The previous week I thought he defended pretty well when he has needed to and you can see that he has offense in mind as well which is important to the structure of our team if he is going to play KPD (noting that his kicking was pretty rubbish yesterday). His aggro has got him in trouble a few times in the past two games but it also shows that he is not someone to lie down and just get punched up, so that is something to work with. More importantly you can see he has the right basic attributes and mindset, but he will need time in the gym and time out on the field to learn and develop his craft. He doesn't look out of place at WAFL senior level currently.

He looked out of his depth this week

That doesn't mean he won't develop into a player

Wilson should be dominating WAFL, that's the thing. If you've been in the AFL as long as him you shouldn't struggle to play better than guys below you.

Wilson has been good this year, but I'd rather develop Walker, O'Driscoll etc. He can come in if someone gets injured down back.
And I would rather select the best team available each week, based on their actual performance. If that happens to be a 30 year old who deserves his spot in the firsts because of his form, then so be it. The onus should be on the second tier players to play well enough to put themselves into consideration.

Did Worner play wing yesterday?

What position did Draper mainly play? What type of player would you say he is projecting to look like (even if it's early).

I don’t think Draper was so good he was banging the door down to play, just looked above the level. Also, for someone supposed to be somewhere between 196 to 199cm, he looked shorter than I thought, I hope he as the size to play in the big boys because having two KPBs of the skills of Cox would be an absolute weapon

I thought he looked more like himself this game to be fair, only the one howler in the first quarter where he didn’t pick up the ball and it went to HC goal as a result
To be fair I only properly watched from halfway through the third when our defence seemed to get on top of things so my Pearce assessment is based on when I last saw him v crows

Worner was mainly off half back.

Draper was playing as a third tall defender. They currently have him playing as a sort of Heath Chapman backup role; defend a range of forwards / intercept mark and aggressive rebound.

I know Chapman was under the impression he'd be moving to the wing this preseason before the club pulled the plug for whatever reason. Ideally sometime in the next year or so Draper can take his spot in the backline and we move him onto the wing. We'd be a lot stronger if it comes off.

Draper for Jamara maybe. Pearce on Lobb and Cox on Naughton.

Could get away with playing Ryan on Lobb. If Lobb is going to mark it, it doesn't really matter who his opponent is. His marks come from unimpeded leaps where he can get his arms up higher than almost any tall defender out there. But most of the time he plays like a wet lettuce leaf and is bodied out of the contest. I saw the likes of Finlayson and Burton (the latter giving up almost 20cm and 20kg) monster Lobb last night.

Quotes or it didn't happen

I've seen a bit of him. He's a good size (195 according to the WAFL site) but can run and is very agile. Lands like a cat to follow up after marking contests. Playing key forward atm but I've seen him play everywhere from forward, to wing, to ruck. East Freo double teamed him every chance they got yesterday.

I'd be super excited for Freo to get him but I'd be pretty surprised if he lasted past 40.

I think we should take Draper this year. He's had his season ruined by injury (and to be fair, wasn't exactly killing it before that either) so I doubt there will be much interest in him and we should get a free hit. He'll be better than Benning I reckon.

He's super agile for a tall, to the point he's been given stints playing midfield and wing to go with key position at either end of the ground (and ruck, but he'd be too small to ruck at AFL - I think he's around 195).

I believe when he played a trial game at Cockburn earlier in the year he kicked a bag of 7 or something so they would have seen what he's capable at his best. He had a slow start to the Colts this season though, but until this year he was focusing more on basketball at PSA and State level, so there's hopefully a lot of improvement to come. He still made the State squad this year but couldn't play due to a LTI.

It's mainly the physical tools that make me think he has AFL potential, and I think he's worth a punt if we get a free hit.

I can't tell if you're messing with me or not... I'm on the Draper bandwagon.

Scaife might be good too, I dunno, I don't know much about him. Being from WP is a black mark against him though.

I'll be very displeased if Draper falls in our lap and we don't take him.

I will be awaiting my job offer from Freo to join the scouting team.

If that is true, why not save that for when he gets a game for Freo, which is admittedly looking more and more like that might happen this year? :p

I've seen enough to lock him in as a future HOFer already.

*Disclaimer: I didn't actually watch the Peel game yesterday...

Man if we plug him in for Hughes when he's fit that's a great upgrade.

In six words, Snuffy just nailed the perfect description of the overall state of our playing lists every year in the period from oh, I dunno, 1999-2018??

Should be the honorary title of all the board List Management threads going forward.

He got his hands on quite a few and if it wasn't so wet, a few more would've stuck. For someone as soft as he is, he's experienced enough now to know how to position and hold his ground, which he actually does well
