Theres a big difference between 10 weeks out and 52 weeks though. Can't play in my opinion, barring a string of injuries.

Him and Griffin. Whoever comes in as second ruck definitely needs to assert themselves. Griffin can mark and has been lively up forward. Who do we play given they are both very different in terms of athleticism and ruck wise?

Obviosuly we need to play one or the other, but I think both have massive questionGriff looked okay up forward but I worry about his complete lack of athleticism/mobility.

Has everyone forgotton the sub rule

Wouldn't that be a huge gamble though? I had read a while back that statistically the sub has ended up being a very predictable 3/4 time injection, except where someone is injured early - and that if you activate early, you are poor odds to win.

So I'd think taking an undercooked Crowley makes very little sense. Say he negates Mitchell for a half then subs out, do you bring on another negater? Because you don't want Mitchell playing a good half, but you can also guarantee at 3/4 time we will send on Hartung for extra run at the death.

Personally even knowing the Baker precedent I think this is all a red herring; if Crowley can hack the pace of a PF after 12 months of no footy then they might need to re-test.

Anyway good luck, really unsure how this game will play out.

Don't think aerobic fitness will be a problem for Ryan with the amount of work he has put in. Touch will be the problem.Hard to keep match skill up if you haven't played under match conditions for 12 months. Apart from that the way he has been used in all the drills and match sims with the main squad tells me he just might front up.

Anybody at the game can feel free to make the umpires feel unwelcome as well as Hodge and Mitchell. Can't get there this Friday, but get loud Freo supporters.

It's when we're getting backed to win that I lose confidence ha, you guys should really be favourites. I think if you guys play Crowley that's a big up for us though, bringing in an old tagger that hasn't played all year is disruptive to you guys not us, from memory Mitch got well on top of him the last couple of times even when he was match fit anyway, it's your home ground and you finished top so you guys should be playing on your own terms you would think.

I actually agree. There are only two games on this weekend and all umpires will be under the microscope by the AFL. Any of these guys does anything less than a great job and he can kiss goodbye to any chance of being named to umpire the grand final.
