All of this talk about flight risk/not a flight risk but WCE fans can't answer the obvious question, why would he want to stay in Perth?
If he turns out to be the player we all think he'll become, why would you stay in Perth if you were him? The answer is you wouldn't. Now don't get me wrong he may tolerate being in Perth and have a level of loyalty but being in Perth would not be his preference. This is obvious and this is common sense.
Thus, he will be a flight risk. Just look at Luke Jackson, he won a flag with us and he still went home. WCE is going to be a poor team for a few year. Where is the incentive for Reid to extend?
Mate why would he want to leave Perth? Best city in the country. He will be with West coast for at least 2 years, by that time the all the young guys will have a couple more years under their belt, and wont be far off finals, would you be advising first year players to be leaving the Hawks or the Crows right now?
30-40 more games into youngsters is a lot, and Mcgovern is the only senior player who provides much impact who will be gone by then.
I hope you arent gonna try to use the demons as an example of where he could go lol, Gawn and May will be gone, Trac and Clarry close to 30, not a lot more great young players coming through to keep the window open. Hardly an ideal club for a young player to be targeting.
Reality is 18 year olds have no idea what they want, so while he may not have Perth as his first choice now, a lot changes in 2 years
