I think your opinion of Larkey is clouding the opinion of Allen. Allen is putting together a remarkable season and is performing much much better than Larkey per basically every single stat and from just watching them.

On the topic I’ll be really interested to see what offers the teams get for pick 1 this year because I feel like the values are getting way over blown
3 more goals in a higher scoring team - remarkable.

Zurhaar and Oscar Allen dont even belong in the same sentence.

And no. Eagles would not trade 3 1st rounder (Allen being worth a 1st) s for pick 1, they need multiple top 10 talents.

North have been plugging away with low top 5 draft picks for how long now? 6 drafts?

Out of interest how many top 10 picks are at North now? And how many 1st round picks?

It has been 3 drafts with top 5 picks. 2017 was the time before that with LDU. North have obviously been very poor in recent years, but it hasn’t been for as long as many think.

Excluding older players and players that were traded in from other clubs.

Top 5 picks
LDU
Phillips
Wardlaw
Sheezel

1st round picks
Powell
Thomas
McKay
Simpkin

We haven’t delisted any 1st rounders in recent years either. It’s really not that big of a list and it will take 1-2 more years of investing in the draft before we starting seeing in reward for it.

Having another top 5 pick this year, along with Port’s should advance us considerably.

It’s also worth noting that when a player like JHF leaves, it further delays our progress. We basically swapped him for Wardlaw and their future pick. Wardlaw hasn’t played and obviously the future pick hasn’t either. JHF in our lineup right now improves us significantly.

Van Rooyan would have to come into play.

Currently have 7 and 17. Two thirds of a realistic offer.
I would've thought that Van Rooyan, 7 and 17 wouldn't be enough for pick 1.
Maybe if it was Van Rooyan, 5 and 14 by the end of the year that might be sufficiently close enough.
Would still prefer to take Reid though.

1. Melbournes suite of picks is probably in line with a reasonable offer. A top 5 pick, a pick in the teens and a future 1st isn’t far off what I’d expect. GWS currently have picks 3 & 7 which is also a reasonable offer, although I’d rather keep the GWS hand

This is bonkers to me.

Way too much for one kid

Welcome to the world of Fremantle
Weller pick 13(2014) leaves 2017
Logue pick 8(2016) leaves 2022
Cerra pick 5(2017) leaves 2021
Neale 2xbnf 25yr leaves 2018
Hill bnf 26yr leaves 2019
Hogan cost pick 6(2018) leaves 2020
Besides hogan, like with JHF we got good draft capital in return but lengthens the rebuild.

So if the Hawks get a few more wins you would trade 3, 12 and a future 1st for Reid?
If WC is 17th, then I will take 3, 10 & F1 from a lower ranked team. Got my eye on Watson for 2 or 3.

Ideally will be 2/3 and a 7/8 & a F1 from current Bottom 6. I would try to on trade the 7/8 on draft day for 2 teens pick as well if opportunity presents

Harley Reid has never played a game of AFL. It would be suicide for any club.

Youre missing the point. Youre not trading for a pick number its a player and he is that much better than the next best player at pick 2 and so on. He will cost a bomb.

We don’t have pick 12 and even if we did and as much as I love Reid I wouldn’t think so. Melbourne and GWS are in the box seat to trade for pick 1. Suns could also be a potential player as they want to offload their first anyway and have a stack on draft capital for their academy kids. They might only take 2 of them if it meant they could orchestrate a pick 1 trade.

North haven’t really entered that world. Apart from JHF, no one has really left North that has been young and talented. Player retention has been one positive thing our club has been able to establish over the years. The last player I can think of before JHF is Daniel Motlop 15 odd years ago.

he was speaking from a Scenario where North trades with Hawks for Pick 1 and gives 3,12(Ports pick, its is 14 now) and F1.

I want 3 & pick in Top 10 + F1.

You can trade a player or picks for 12.

So 3, 12 and next years 1st? It just looks way overs.
