In a way it makes sense as they may be willing to part with ot now they have pick 2. If we strike a deal with west coast we could give GWS pick 6 and 11 for pick 1.
Maybe throw in 27 too,hope your mate is right.

Pick 27 goes with pick 10 to get pick 6 and 40 from WCE so that couldn't be used.

I find it highly doubtful but pick 6, 11 and another player would get you fairly close to the fire.

Problem is he is a chronic BS merchant so he could be using it to wind me up but he has been admanent for weeks that we are going really hard. Its unusual for him to hold the line for so long.

The only way I could see GWS trading pick 1 is if they believe he will only do one contract there and head back home to Melbourne anyway. In this scenario they may try to get some value for the pick 1, now they have already secured pick 2.

I guess its a possibility. If Boyd comes on like people are predicting he could have huge trade value in a couple of years time and end up walking anyway. He could put a big price on his head and enter the draft to be picked up by the first Melbourne club with enough cap room.

I don't think 6 + Shaw is enough for Boyd, but not a million miles off. Although Hogan (roughly the equal of Boyd) cost 3 & 13 for Hogan & 20, ...let's say Shaw is worth 13, if we could send another 16-26 player on our list, then they might say yes. Or, we'd be leaving out the 20, so that's the diff between 3 & 6??? Maybe it is do-able?

Didn't they knock back an offer from St Kilda of Pick 3 and any player on the list? Makes Pick 6 and Sidebottom seem far fetched (Unless of course they rate Sidey far and above anybody on St Kilda's list - Not out of the question)
