Glad we seem to be playing Reef up the ground, we desperately need one or all of Reef, Allan, Demattia to come through in the midfield over the next 12 months, build our foundations around Nick, JDG & Crisp (3 more vgood yrs would be great) and hopefully bring in someone via FA/trade.

Reef, Fin, Bytel were our better players. Sullivan started well with 2 goals, but faded after that. Ash was poor. Mcstay was good in the decent minutes he was on the ground

Its clear they need to continue to play Reef up the ground where he can get involved, rather than being cold in the forward line.

Glover will win our VFL BnF, that much is clear. If he was a couple years younger, he should be on a list, but he is the same age that Sullivan when picked up. But he was exceptional today

Thought the oakleigh charger Zane played well for his first game of senior football.

Harry got involved. TJ did some nice things.
Shame about injuries to Dean and Smit -- who is looking like a real player. The way he hunts the ball.
Allan started to get involved in the 2nd half. Streaming through the middle and kicking that goal

Saw some of the players from last night at the huddles, coming into the club for recovery. Moore, Frampton, DC, Daicos's, Maynard

Then some of those in rehab. Eyre. Ryan.

Thought our effort and the way we played was a big improvement over last few weeks. Just some things like turnovers, and having 1 on the bench didn't help
But there was some things to like

Bytel continues to rack possessions but I still
Never notice. It’s uncanny. Disagree on Fin was well beaten by their mids and needs to be doing more if he expects a recall. Reef looked good when moved into the middle. Only one of those 3 that looked like he had the tools for seniors.

"He's so invested, Reef; the first thing he wanted to do after last night was to come play vfl. We've seen he is able to go on the inside in the midfield with his burst and speed and up forward he is a real beacon for us." - Fraser

I agree.I think Reef is primarily a midfielder and not a forward. He needs to play as much as possible in the midfield, even at senior level,The midfield just looks so old and tired at the moment ,it needs an injection of youth asap in my opinion.

I reckon concussion
Had a big knock on the wing, and he was down for a bit.
It's become a joke. I watched the first half and was thrilled with what I saw of Smit but I forgot he was a Collingwood ruckman and they are not permitted to play a full season this year. Dean too? Two more down in this waste of a year.

Vic Park is council owned land. It will not be sold or made private. As has been gone over many times before, we walked away and let our connection (lease) lapse. Although we still occupy (rent) the Bob Rose Stand in some capacity.

We never owned it and nor is it public (state) owned land. Council can do whatever they want with it, subject to it’s heritage controls.

The AIA Centre is where we should focus our efforts, but the space is so tight there’s literally little room to move. Although a modest, covered, tiered stand on the east side, with toilets and a food/beverage facility for VFL and AFLW games would be a start.😊
My understanding is that Collingwood only rent AIA centre as well, anyway. Hard to do anything due to that? Could be wrong.

But yeah, Vic Park being council owned and them not giving a shit is the problem

Yarra Council seems to hate Vic Park

AIA Centre is on Crown land, AKA state-owned public land. It’s part of the larger area known as the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct, which is managed by the Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust.

Not sure what we pay, or the mechanism (licence? lease?) but we are one tenant in a larger public land precinct.

We can’t just do as we please, but we still have some discretion/flexibility depending on obtaining a range of approvals, including heritage approvals as the former Olympic Swimming Pool is on the state heritage register.

Great pics but wrong thread and could you please load less into the thread. Happy to follow the link to view but the pics just stuff up trying to read the thread as they individually load.

Fade outs in both teams regularly.

Not fit? Didn’t work hard enough in pre season ?
Pretty young and inexperience vfl side this year. Even more so when some of these players go up to afl level when there are injuries.
Still working out synegy. But I felt we're slowly getting better, even if the scoreboard doesn't reflect that.
