Really nice piece about SPP.
Turned into such a stable loving family man. Am sure his years living with Boak turned the fella around. Chomping at the bit to get back on the field and make his daughters proud.

In my eyes his best position is small forward. And yes I said that right, by small I mean playstyle, not size.
However his bigger strength in his versatility. He can bring something to every part of the ground and a good coach would be shuffling him a lot more. Need an enforcer in the mid? Send him there. Got a classy half back getting off the chain? Send him there.
I agree. He should definitely be thrown in for bursts in the middle when we can't get a clearance

I think his best position is Centre, however with our makeup he isn’t getting a look in, Wines, Drew, JHF play a similar role to one I would expect Pep to play. So in our team I think his selfless approach to footy and his high energy lends itself to playing as a Small Forward/Half Forward.
I would rather Play SPP on the pill than Rozee, Connor to head to a Forward role or split his time with Pep.
Coming back from a knee though Pep won’t hit his straps for another 12 months yet, be patient with the return and copping the knee when he did I doubt he will every play as an onballer now.
I could also see us shipping him off at the end of the season to give the new coach a first round pick, as we have with many other players recently. I hope we don’t, Lord also.
He appears built to be a midfielder but he has never really shown it there. Didn’t get enough clearances and didn’t find it enough on the outside.
He’s a forward.

With how good our midfield is, there’s no need to try and shove SPP in there as well I think his goal sense is probably the best on our list, and players with that skill aren’t usually as big and strong as he is. That unique blend is enough to convince me he should be playing in the forward line for the vast majority of the time he’s on the field.

Was he ever given 20 games in there to learn and develop? He burst on the scene as a young fella, I feel he was pigeonholed by his success as a Forward rather than investing the time required to develop.
Miles Burgmann 7 years earlier. ‘Found’ a role and then left there to be a good role player. Sure a little success is great, but we need to be looking for continuous improvement from the head coach to the boot studder!

We need good players in every position rather than trying to pigeonhole every good player as a midfielder. We already have lots of good midfielders. Having a gun defender like Bergman and a gun medium forward like SPP available to us is a luxury, not a bad thing.

Fantastic that his daddy Kenny Hinkley was able to make the trip to Bali for the wedding. Hope he was able to get a good cheese toastie and didn't have to eat any of that foreign muck.

Having pepps back in the team next season is going to be a huge bonus for us one that i think is greatly underrated by the outside we missed his pressure that caused opposition turn overs, his tackling and forward half abilities
I'm looking forward to a new look forward line with a few new decent crumbers just wish we had a fresh coach to go with it
