He will never win a Brownlow.

Zak Butters will take too many votes from him

His season changed when he went into the middle against Carlton after half time, and Hayes regularly hit it into space and Connor used his jets to get to the ball first on most occasions.

Tell that to Ablett and Bartel.

Or Voss, Ackermanis and Black.

You need more votes to win the Brownlow these days. Very hard to win when you're splitting votes with teammates. See Oliver and Petracca last year.

In any case, Rozee's biggest vote threat isn't Butters who is not even a proven midfielder at AFL level, it's the guy who polled a record tally at last year's Brownlow.

2021 Brownlow medal

36 - Ollie Wines
25 - Travis Boak

Biggest same team two player total in the count.

Tbf the first 4.5 rounds connor made chayce jones look better as a footballer.

He was soft at the contest, constantly moping around on field, any knock he got he looked like a lame dog for the rest of the game.

It's good to see that he finally put on his big boy pants.

This was a good thread to put a few more morons on the ignore list when they proclaimed Rozee was a hack/dud/etc
Sounds like if you had your way, he'd be spending a lot more time playing up his limp in the SANFL instead of top 5 in the coaches votes. He was not good and he needed a wake up call.

It was more than a few down games, he'd been nothing more than a bits and pieces player since 2019.

The positional move changed everything in an instant. I for one admit that I never saw him impacting in the midfield like he did. He still has some flaws that need to be addressed (mainly his kicking) but he made huge progress this year after several years of stagnating as a forward.

I think he has incredible offensive tools that make him a match winner.

To be truly elite I think he needs to tighten up a bit on his game defensively but idk maybe the coaching instruction is just to hurt the opposition offensively.

It’s like him and Drew are the exact opposite midfielder

Just went through matches back to round 16. Apart from 2 rounds he was either top 1 or 2 for tackles. And had more tackles than Drew 5 out of the 8 games…
