Yeah, but I was explaining why, IMO, not many are calling for his head THIS week.
I don't think they'll play Varcs or Howe next week.
ThisOut: MacAffer, Gault
In: Howe, Varcoe
I thought aish was a bit soft - however stood up in the last quarter quite a bit...i reckon hes certain starter mext week. Some things he did suprised a littleAish looked out of place, but I'd rather give him another game especially against Saints than dump him back to VFL
I really don't get how we are smashed in contested ball. With the likes of Treloar, Adams, Greenwood, De Goey in there you would think that would be our strengthWouldn't be surprised if Bucks trialled another contested midfielder, we were smashed again this week in the centre. Goodyear was on this weeks emergency list, Broomhead another if fit. Marley Williams maybe, due to the fact that Bucks likes to stack the side with defensive type players ?
de Goey had 14 touches playing 85% game time at half forward/midfield yet no mention of him from anyone. I am a big fan of him but that happens far too often.
He has been very disappointing for me in both games so far and I at least would expect he would have maintained form or improved on it from last year... not gone backwards. It's only round 2 though obviously but judging by what he's put out these 2 games I think posters are right to bring it up.Not sure what you expect from a second year player

If the last two weeks has taught us anything it's that we need a full time ruck coach to Mentor Grundy and Witts. When they get beaten, they don't try anything different (running in from a different line/angle, tapping with a different hand etc). Getting this right will improve hit outs to advantage and help our mids with centre clearancesI really don't get how we are smashed in contested ball. Is Varcoe going to be ready from his hammy?
I thought our ruck work was very ordinary. Sure Grundy offers around the ground, but in terms of ruck contesting we really need to do some work on this behind the scenes to give our midfielders every opportunity at 1st use of the footy.
Do we even have a ruck coach? Why is rucking always such an issue at Collingwood?
Both Witts and Grundy both have enormous potential but it looks like this may only be realised at another club

It looks like Jeremy Howe has been reported for a scuffle which occurred away from the play.
Hopefully thrown out!Not ideal, Howe just reported in the VFL game;
happens far too often for an 18 game kid?de Goey had 14 touches playing 85% game time at half forward/midfield yet no mention of him from anyone. I am a big fan of him but that happens far too often.
Laid couple of game changing tackles in the middle when we were up and about. Was a big factor in us kicking 3 consecutive goals in the to put us 42/33 in front in the second.
That said, it would be good to see him get more of the ball.
