Because he’s too talented not to pick and he knows it, which is basically the whole everlovin’ problem.
Yep. He cant be replaced with equal value on field but he can be replaced with (roughly) equal value at the trade table.

I'm trying to give what I think is a balanced view of where I see him sitting in terms of ability and value for money.

I think he is a very good player but I don't rate his efforts as consistently God-tier and don't think he's reached the potential he showed as a John Cahill Medallist (2013) and All-Australian (2013, 2015), that's hardly talking him down.

It's easy to say the club should do this or that, but we have no inside knowledge of how the club has approached him or how his management has worked with (or played) the club.

It's bigfooty, that'll never work. I think your opinions about what is probably happening with Chad and the club sound much more feasible than a lot of stuff on here. And before anyone blames Ken and whatever he may have said at Chad's exit interview, Chad's insta with the broken legs and plea not to be traded came after he had already had his meeting with Ken.

I think Chad will stay, but I hope he's not reading this board in the meantime.

On trade radio they're saying wingard is worth between norfs pick 10 and 28 so they shouldn't use 10 on him.... aside from completely forgetting i guess that the North Melbourne Football Club will need 10 for polec..... I'm triggered
Lol and they've missed the fact its pick 11 now. Do they really think we'd even consider trading him for a pick higher than the Bulldogs pick 6? Boy oh boy wowee

The way the cards are falling, if we can get #5, we could get Rankine- if not, Smith.

1 CA Walsh
2 GC Lukosius
3 GC Rozee
4 SK M.King
5 PA Rankine

To get #5, we need to package 10 and 11.

So would you rather have Rankine or Hately and Hill?

I know it can mean little, but according to the draft value index, 10 + 11 equates to pick 2, while 11 + 23 equates to around pick 4. Pretty sure the teams holding those higher pick wouldn't entertain 11 + 23 unless they really needed the points to bid..

he needs to grow up. It’s completely unprofessional & someone I don’t want at my club infecting the culture. Harden the fukc up princess !!

Back when he was leaving Brisbane, Polec was trolling both SA clubs supporters by posting pix of him and Brodie Smith on Instagram, fuelling speculation about where he would go, but nobody here complained about that, which is actually attention seeking, not just liking posts from fans.... I think it's us the people who have become far more precious

So if it’s about Chad not putting in the required effort why on earth did Ken gift him games?

It's not really about selection. It's about not hitting that high gear.

Think of a scale, 0 --> 10, where 0 is god awful and 10 is peak GAJ. Now, imagine you need to be at about a 5 to earn AFL selection. Chad is cruising at about a 6-7 but he's capable of a consistent 9-10.

When it's time for contract negotiations, the offer is going to be based on a 7/10 player not a 9/10 player that Wingard is capable of being.

Tredders has been reading Zakk Wylde posts. Running with the story of Port positioning itself in the draft to have a crack at top young SA talent. With video of Rankine ;)

Will Ken weave his magic again and take a risk on Bennell? Before you poo poo the idea, remember that Dixon came here with doggy ankles and a reputation for loving the nightlife. We got his body right and his off field has been excellent- can't remember a blemish. The rewards of doing something similar with Bennell (who would come for free) would be immense.

Ken would know if this character can be tamed. We showed a tendency to take a risk with Trengove, Thomas and McKenzie last year. Bennell may be the perfect Thomas replacement.

For me, this comes down 100% to character. If we think Paul VdB, Charlie and Ken can keep Harley straight we should pounce. The risk with the calf problems is well and truly outweighed by the upside. It's all down to character.

Tom Rehn suggesting a trade with Gold Coast for pick 2 or 3. Davies saying it's something we are looking at. Really nothing new from his interview earlier today.

The idea that Chad isn't playing to his potential is entirely subjective and not based in any firm reality. The hearsay based on opinions around the club that he doesn't train hard enough or prepare hard enough or care enough is subjective and is not evidence of this idea that he's not reaching his potential.

I feel like some people are waiting for the return of the buzzy, high flying, dynamic Chad Wingard from circa 2013-2015 days. But he's not that player anymore. The game has changed, he's a few years older and he's also stacked on some size to enable him to play more midfield minutes.

But none of this means he's still not one of our very best players, he absolutely is. As a midfielder, he's highly skilled with both feet and (especially) hands, can play inside and outside, is a great clearance player. And he's still only in the infancy of his midfield career and at 25 should be expected to be coming into his prime years right now.

We'll regret it big time if we let him go.

That would be exciting ... we've never had a top 3 pick before!

So, Billy Frampton. Won't be on our list much longer going by something I was told today.

Less about Ken's attitude, more about the leadership group's thoughts about him.
