So, Billy Frampton. Won't be on our list much longer going by something I was told today.

Less about Ken's attitude, more about the leadership group's thoughts about him.
I mean I’d prefer we delist him than keep him for no reason.

Probably shouldn’t have been on our list in 2018 if we are being real.

The idea that Chad isn't playing to his potential is entirely subjective and not based in any firm reality. The hearsay based on opinions around the club that he doesn't train hard enough or prepare hard enough or care enough is subjective and is not evidence of this idea that he's not reaching his potential.

It's evidence to me if I believe it, which I do.

We'll regret it big time if we let him go.

Depends what we let him go for.

If his attitude sucks why not? We had bugger all debutants 2018.

He was sixth in the b&f. He was fine, but not up to the standards set of him based on his best.

His attitude doesn’t suck, there’s a difference between a bad attitude and not pushing yourself 100%.

You do t play debutants for the sake of it. You play them because it makes sense.

I don't think much of the leadership group.

Probably jealous of his hair and movie star looks.

Will Ken weave his magic again and take a risk on Bennell? Before you poo poo the idea, remember that Dixon came here with doggy ankles and a reputation for loving the nightlife. We got his body right and his off field has been excellent- can't remember a blemish. The rewards of doing something similar with Bennell (who would come for free) would be immense.

Ken would know if this character can be tamed. We showed a tendency to take a risk with Trengove, Thomas and McKenzie last year. Bennell may be the perfect Thomas replacement.

For me, this comes down 100% to character. If we think Paul VdB, Charlie and Ken can keep Harley straight we should pounce. The risk with the calf problems is well and truly outweighed by the upside. It's all down to character.
Magic?

If they trade Wingard they are dumb AF. Not only does it have catastrophic impact on our premiership chances, but also our Membership numbers next year.

Back in that with a fresh game plan Wingard enjoys his footy, has a ig year and stays. Loves his family, cant imagine him ever being desperate to go. Cant dart home after training to see them if he's in Vic.

Is there anybody else at the club compelling Chad to be the best player he can be though?

The players on the best coin from other clubs have routinely gone missing when the going gets tough.

Players who are out-of-form but in the clique are untouchable and guaranteed gametime.

Players with early promise are required to maintain that standard at all times, but one poor game and its SANFL gametime indefinitely for them.

Players with a tenth of the talent that Chad has are given gametime and routinely underperform with little to no consequence.

Chad is a match winner for us, has won Showdowns and finals off his own boot, has never pretended nor wanted to be a leader and is now being singled out.

If I were Chad you'd bet I'd be listening to what other clubs are offering me.

Maccas position seems sound.
You seem to be the one making big assumptions here.
Its not just the coach that sits in exit interviews, and theres been talk of different parties having different thoughts on players. The general feel that comes from players that have played under him is he is a players coach. My money wouyld be on any hostility (if there was any) coming more from a list manager angle.
Whereas I'm not getting this vibe at all.

My interpretations are the players, including Chad, are p'd off with a boring and unsuccessful game plan and have been for at least 18 months.

Chad, as is obvious, has not been happy, and has said so in his exit interview, and to the coach who would very obviously be at that exit meeting. I don't hear much from the innards but what I have heard is that Ken is not quite as popular as many here seem to think.

So the coach(es) is not happy, has convinced Koch and Davies to be unhappy with Wingard who is being singled out for being the messenger.

Now I have no issues with the club being bigger than the individual, and no doubt Wingard needs to pull his head in, get fitter and be as good as he could, but this situation reeks of communication issues both ways and could get out of control so that we lose Chad.

Davies appears to be playing this out in the media with his media statements showing a lack of concern for a player's feelings, not giving any indication that the club actually wants him there. Fraught with danger.

Most clubs manage to develop a working relationship with players who challenge the status quo, which is what I think Chad is doing. To me this all harks back to Ken blaming the players and not himself.

Now I don't KNOW (takes me back to interminable uni lectures about the difference between knowing and believing) that any of the above is true, I only believe or suspect.

What I am getting at is that opinions are so diverse both here and in the media that maybe we shouldn't be attacking each others' views!

Schofeild will be that person.

Robbie Gray wasn’t playing to his potential this year, objectively provable as he didn’t win the BnF or Coaches award.

He must be lazy so we should trade him.

Robbie Gray is a great example actually. His commitment to his craft post knee-op compared to pre-knee op is chalk and cheese. All those little things add up.

It's not just that he's a bit of a lad is it?

The words used were, 'shit bloke'. Coupled with who said it, (no i can't reveal that), it was a pretty big slam and one that I didn't really want to hear.

There was talk around here very early in the season about the club not being happy with Chad's attitude and the possibility of him not being at the club next year as a result. That chatter pre dates the exit meeting and probably pre dates the supposed game of chicken re contract negotiations. There's stuff on the club's end that they're not letting on publicly (nor should they obviously).

He has openly said he wishes we worked as hard earl on as what he has post ACL. A lot of people may not realise how bad his ACL actually was, truly horrific. It took that ACL injury to give Gray the professionalism required to get to the level he is at.

Wingard has done more to the same age, we need to look at how to get that (without the injury of coarse) Financial would be one. Offer him 700K plus 150/200 for earning All Australian selection. Maybe Have Schofeild/Monts work extra close with him. Choco working with dusty got him to the next level, these two could possibly be what gets Wingard to the next level.
