Lycetts coming home. His manager rubbished the idea of west coast matching. It's gonna happen.

When asked about whether he'll be at Port he said "Definitely."

Also said the salary reported in the media is "exaggerated"

But Slyce pleaded with West Coast to match the offer that WA Rowey bloke said so.

Said "if west coast change tack and decide to match"

From that, it seems like WC have already provisionally decided not to match.

Well if Scott wouldn't beg them to, it wouldn't happen. :p

What’s the point of giving Carlton access to state league players if they’re just going to trade them for extra picks to get more 18 year olds?

lol you just know the AFL are like "well shit, we didn't see that coming."

Spot on. Another ridiculous move from the AFL.

Carlton just see those mature agers as more draft currency.

Add in 19 year old KPF prospects as "mature". Totally not in the spirit of the rule, but if that's how Carlton wish to spend their picks, so be it.

I doubt this priority rule from the AFL will last long.

Of course the salary is exaggerated. It's a more interesting story if journos throw out the old "it is believed" and then a big figure. Happens with every free agent.

To use as part of trade deal extras for the like of hopefully Shiel, Settlefield and McGovern I'd say or have a pick after we use the others. Outside of pick 1, which we'll keep, we only have picks 24 and 25 as relatively early picks and they'll go pretty quick IF, of course, a couple of those deals come to pass. If we were to get a couple of those we're not likely to be needing a state league player. SOS doesn't do anything unless he has something in mind.

Stand by, we're about to be list managed by Plough - or ploughed by the list manager - or something...
Wingard for a pick in the 20's is plenty.
