Bangers - the Draft Guide is excellent work. The best out there.

After watching highlights packages and now having read through the guide with stats, strengths, weaknesses etc how TF is the BUSS not being spoken about as top 5? Very high production type that will dominate whatever backline he operates in for the next decade (this is my amateur assessment). I would be very happy with him at St Kilda's pick; elite talent and serves a considerable need.
That 6-12ish range is pretty close for most so really it comes down to a matter of preference/ exposure for most. There aren't too many players that successfully play as a tall interceptor without going able to still compete one-on-one, that's probably the main concern for his role translation to the next level, and average athleticism is going to be a concern for any prospect

Love the Draft Guide!

Is the main reason Sheezel's ceiling isn't rated as elite due to his athleticism?
That, and there's not really any additional areas of his game that will have natural development given how good he already is. TBH, not many from this draft have that high of a ceiling imo

I reckon there's a few teams that may pull the trigger just after West Coast's first pick if they look past him. Do you think WC will select him given he's a local or do you see them simply going best available?

I think Eagles just go best available with a leaning towards midfielders, it's the area they need the most help in over the next few years and 2-3 top 30 mids early in their rebuild will be invaluable

Best available with a first. Since 2014, all our 1st rounders have been from outside WA. In that time, all bar one of our first selections (Callum Jamieson) have been from outside WA.

Intrigues definitely there since moving from pick 2 to 8 - not to mention WC's selection has a big impact on St Kilda's first pick! I guess you blokes will be looking closely at McKenzie as the best and most realistic mid available at your pick? Or Ginby.

Ginbey, Mackenzie, Phillipou, Busslinger and Allan seem to be mentioned the most regarding pick 8.

Haha nah literally an oversight. We had the list ready, but then making the odd last change, dunno how he fell out of it, safely inside it. I'll aim to get it fixed next week even before the update.
If you're doing an update... have a look at the links to Jack O'Sullivan, Lloyd Johnston, Harry Flynn & Josh Bennetts. The first two links should have a "-2" after the name. The latter two go to a profile, but it doesn't look right - doesn't have any write-up.

The first two easy fix we’ll add that to the update. The latter two are profiles going to be added, just needs to be physically added in which we’ll do over the next 24 hours.

Since this has somehow become the unofficial RMC liaison thread, just have two questions:

Will there be an RMC phantom draft like last year?
Will the Draft Guide Power Rankings be uploaded on the site in the format of the previous months, and will that be pinned to the top banner rather than August's rankings?

Yeah the Power Rankings will be done Monday night.

Phantom Draft wise we’ll do something in the week leading up to the draft, and ideally will aim to be in the final update to the draft guide.

Where do you see Gruzewski playing at the top level?
To me he looks FAR more comfortable when playing a role behind the ball, reads it extremely well and is a damaging aerial threat, but I think he'll ultimately be used as a forward given his set shot accuracy and contested marking strength when he's up there, as well as a solid athletic base which makes up for the few centimetres he lacks in height, it'll just be a slower burn as a forward given he's got a long way to go with his craft up there

I think people need to more specific with Sheezel, he certainly isn’t lacking athleticism. It’s speed specifically.

He has one of the better engines in the pool and he’s also one of the most agile players in the pool.

So it’s not “athleticism”

He can also leap for some **** off good marks

Who'll be the unlucky sod to make way for Jed Walter in the final edition of the 2022 draft guide?
Harley Reid only scraped in, just another Victorian getting overlooked 😪

I particularly enjoy the write ups on the following players;
Jack O’Sullivan, Charlie Clarke, Harry Sheezel, Olli Hotton, Cam Mackenzie, Ollie Hollands, Mitch Szybkowski, Coby Burgiel, George Wardlaw, Jacob Konstanty, Jedd Busslinger, Josh Bennetts, ted Clohesy, Darcy Edmends, Jamie Hope, Matthew Payne, Rye Penny, Chris Rousakis, Jonti Schuback, Nathan Scollo, Clay Tucker

However all the other profiles are pretty good as well!

Really appreciate the work put into this report, however, the fact that they rate Ashcroft's and Tsatas' disposal as good as Mackenzie's stretches credibility.

The colour rankings are largely left up to the individual that writes the profile, so there's a degree of subjectivity there of course.

I've spoken about Ashcrofts disposal before, it is very good for the most part, the only issue I have with it is some of the decision making around his handballing, but he very rarely turns it over. On the flipside, I think Mackenzie's has been overrated a touch, I love how he weights his kicks and is sharp in congestion, but he's more prone to bang the ball on the boot under pressure than an Ashcroft under pressure, so it evens out.

Tsatas varies game to game, sometimes he's fantastic and others he's a shocker, but his technique is fairly solid, just needs to learn to point his foot when he kicks and those up and unders will become less frequent, and I've seen him hit some ridiculous kicks this year but again subjectivity

Tsatas looks the closest prospect to Jack Macrae I've seen in a while.
Similar running style and Macrae did loop the ball quiet a bit by foot early in his career

One suggestion might be a rating out of 100 for each player, as a lot of NBA scouting websites do.

Good way of comparing drafts and previous top prospects that way.

The writers are pretty forgiving when it comes to disposal, which is understandable.

Cadman as 'above average' is half true ;)

And, it says a lot about the draft if Humphrey's disposal is considered average.
