USA Policy positions of Donald Trump; let's see how many he achieves

Honestly, he will just announce a fundraising effort for the mid-terms almost immediately where he will siphon funds as a spotter's fee. He will try to maintain the 'kiss the ring' methodology for primaries for candidates - though GOP leadership will wean themselves off him as quickly as they can to position someone for 2028.
He can only create a "fundraising effort" to donate to if the Trumps are directors. (Trump doesn't let others control his grift money).

Last time he was president, the GOP House and Senate completely ignored him while he moaned about funding the wall. A few who want jobs from the House suck-up for a Secretary job, or to boost their Presidential hopes. But once those roles are doled out in the first few months, they just started ignoring him.

They'll do one big tax cut for the rich with a bunch of cuts which will be watered down. The debt will grow and they'll all not care and wait until there's a Democrat in charge before they care about debt again.

Apart from all the poor Americans who will suffer and die (but half of them voted for this), I'm only really worried about the stupid stuff Trump will do like starting wars and tariffs which affect some poor factory worker in Mexico or farmer in Gippsland. It's one thing for Trump to make his own idiot voters suffer, it's another to inflict that on others in the world and for nobody's real benefit.

Shocked

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday denied President-elect Donald J. Trump’s emergency bid to halt his criminal sentencing in New York, all but ensuring it would proceed as planned on Friday.

After a series of unsuccessful legal maneuvers in New York State courts, the former and future president had hoped to prevail before a friendlier audience: a Supreme Court with a 6-to-3 conservative majority that includes three justices Mr. Trump appointed during his first term.

But the court opted to stay out of the case for now, despite having come to Mr. Trump’s rescue in a string of other recent matters. In July, the justices granted former presidents broad immunity for their official acts, undermining a separate criminal case against Mr. Trump in Washington.

Wow ok. Does any know why?

The order states:

The application for stay presented to Justice Sotomayor and by her referred to the Court is denied for, inter alia, the following reasons. First, the alleged evidentiary violations at President-Elect Trump’s state-court trial can be addressed in the ordinary course on appeal. Second, the burden that sentencing will impose on the President-Elect’s responsibilities is relatively insubstantial in light of the trial court’s stated intent to impose a sentence of “unconditional discharge” after a brief virtual hearing.

Justice Thomas, Justice Alito, Justice Gorsuch, and Justice Kavanaugh would grant the application.

Per cnn

Merchan by saying no jail time was a masterstroke . He wanted the jury decision to stay.
Will be cheeky if he appeals . He will have the time as the president to get involved

Escapes 34 felonies with no punishment. Meanwhile people serving life sentences for being busted with weed a few times.

What a country.
The punishment is having the word felon next to his name , for a narcissist , that will drive him nuts

Lol
President-elect Donald Trump said he respects the Supreme Court’s decision to deny his request to stop his sentencing in New York v. Trump from moving forward, but said Thursday night he will appeal, while stressing that "lawfare" has been an "attack on the Republican Party."

Trump’s comments came just moments after the Supreme Court denied Trump’s emergency petition to block his sentencing from taking place on Friday, Jan. 10. The sentencing was scheduled by New York Judge Juan Merchan.

The warnings are coming thick and fast.
Worth a watch.

“Mark Zuckerberg has ditched his suit, grown out his Caesar haircut and bought a rapper-style gold chain. He’s said one of his biggest regrets is apologising too much. Because he – like others in Silicon Valley – has read the runes. PayPal’s co-founder Peter Thiel, creeping around in the shadows, ensured his man, JD Vance, got on the presidential ticket. Musk wagered a Silicon Valley-style bet by going all in on Trump. Jeff Bezos, late to the party, jumped on the bandwagon with just days to go, ensuringhis Washington Post didn’t endorse any candidate.”

“ These bros know. They don’t fear journalists any more. Journalists will now learn to fear them. Because this is oligarchy now. This is the fusion of state and commercial power in a ruling elite. It’s not a coincidence that Musk spouts the Kremlin’s talking points and chats to Putin on the phone. The chaos of Russia in the 90s is the template; billions will be made, people will die, crimes will be committed..”

It started in 2016 where a significant volume of voters quoted Social Media as their main source , it's gone exponential now. Quote from the article sums it up perfectly :

"Social media is mainstream media now. It’s where the majority of the world gets its news. Though who even cares about news? It’s where the world gets its memes and jokes and consumes its endlessly mutating trends. Forget “internet culture”. The internet is culture. And this is where this election was fought and won … long before a single person cast a ballot."

Zuckerberg has been open with changing their fact check model but what about tinkering with algorithms?
That's very likely to be happening quietly in the background and swaying content toward the Orange one's policies and hair brained concepts.............
Information is power , has the battle been lost?

Power only moved hands between the oligarchs who owned the media and the fewer oligarchs who own Social Media.

The problem for most countries is that these oligarchs are mostly US-based. The rest of the world should tax them appropriately and they wouldn't be so big and unwieldy.

I just checked, Trump didn't reduce spending in any year of his Presidency and decreased revenue in 3 out of 4 years.

And there are idiots who think he's going to cut the deficit. The orange moron and his DOGE duo of stupid aren't even going to come close. Are there any Trump supporters who want to bet whether the GOP will cut the deficit in any year of Trump's presidency? If they do close the deficit, I'll change my avatar to your choosing, if they don't I pick your avatar.

Trump's Corporate and Personal Tax Cuts in his first Presidency decimated Revenue.

Being charitable he could have been backing Economic Growth to offset the revenue loss but his senseless Tariff War with China stuffed that and probably cut GDP by around 1.0%.
In addition the Corporates just strengthened their Balance Sheets instead of investing.
Agree with you , Saint on the deficit , they need massive , massive expenditure reduction to get anywhere near a surplus but that can only come from Social Welfare , Health or Defence - could be cataclysmic on standard of living if they go there.

Further - his proposed tariff policy and deporting millions of low paid workers will send inflation into overdrive - the levers he's pulling just work against each other.

Tillerson was right - Trump is a ****ing moron, totally transactional and only interested in growing his own wealth and having smoke blown up his arse from his growing army of sycophants..........

They don't need massive spending reduction. Australia's Govt spending is larger in proportion to GDP than the US. The US is less than every European country and on par with places like Colombia, Argentina and Algeria.

They have a revenue problem. They have too many tax loopholes for large businesses. They barely tax wealth accumulation at all and business-people over there us the loop-holes well.

Then again, if they spend a couple of % more on Health, they could offer universal health care and people could drop their private insurance, which is currently 11% of the median income. So instead of privately paying 11%, they could publicly pay about 5% and get better outcomes.

I agree though, that they could drop military spending by half a % and fix most of the problems they've got. They weren't far away from a balanced budget in Obama's last year. Then the GOP Congress slashed revenue.

President-elect Donald Trump has once again pulled from Fox News to bolster his administration.

On Thursday night, Trump said he tapped Leo Terrell to be his senior counsel to the assistant attorney general for civil rights in the Justice Department.

"Leo is a highly respected civil rights attorney and political analyst. He received his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and has defended many high profile cases throughout his incredibly successful career. Leo will be a fantastic advocate for the American People, and ensure we will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" touted Trump.

Agree with you , my point ( could have been clearer) is that if he insists on Tax Cuts/Tariffs/Immigration promises the only way to a deficit is through cutting expenditure as revenue growth won't happen.

Foreign Government openly talks about subverting US democracy and absolute crickets.

Can you imagine if it came out that the Russians/Iranians/Saudis were doing this?

The underlying part is the White Supremacy. Jews and Christians are better than Arabs, therefore they have different rules.
