Gotta say, well done North. Pity we don't get to play you blokes again this year on our home deck (we rarely do, it seems).

If you go to an opposition board to be gracious after a loss, this is where you stop.

Gotta say, well done North. Pity we don't get to play you blokes again this year on our home deck (we rarely do, it seems). Except for Boomer, the Mickey Rooney of the AFL, you didn't have a lot of talent on the park yesterday, but you made that up with heart and grit, and made the most of your opportunities whereas we mucked up. Have got no doubt though that we'll finish higher up on the ladder than your mob. To quote your jaunty song: "Just you wait and see."
It was nice watching Polec just jogging along 20m behind Nicky Dal as he waltzed in leisurely to kick one of the sealers but keeping telling yourself whatever you need to sleep at night.

Hopefully this haunts your dreams ImageUploadedByTapatalk1396859665.896060.jpg

Gee that takes me back to the early noughties. We had plenty of talent in and out of the side by the way, not as flashy as some from your mob but flashy doesn't always win you games.

Just about everything that could have gone wrong for us, went wrong (4 posters, baffling free kicks, Monfries pinging his hammy the moment he was free going for an open goal, marks not paid in front of goal) whereas the Boners played out of their skins - and we still got within 7 points and had a chance to snatch it at the end with our 14 year old back pocket Impey missing. But there's no doubt that your team pressured us and forced us into numerous uncharacteristic skill errors. Credit must be given where it is due.

So North didn't have any posters, or the ones we had don't count?

So....... well done to us then, even though you guys are better? What a lot of tripe, agree on one thing though, it is a pity we don't get to play you again this year so we can improve on our 21-8 record. You aren't as good as you think you are.

WELL GIVE THE BLOODY CREDIT WHERE IT IS DUE, THEN.

Port weren't worse off than North with injuries, missed chances or umpiring decisions. North outplayed them on the day. That. Is. It.

Bad kicking is bad football right. Butcher who kicked one of your posters is just a poor shot for goal. You could say it almost went right for you there but he missed by a few inches. Ollie Wines is a good kick but was forced to mark 40 out on a tight angle iirc. Was a tough kick and did well to get close. We had a poster too mind you, and Harvey uncharacteristically missing some very very gettable chances.

I'll give you the Impey non mark, but if you think we got the rub of the green with the umps you're wrong. And to say we played out of our skins, and everything that went wrong for you did is in no way giving credit to us at all. You may be trying to be gracious but you're doing it very poorly.

You didn't have FOUR. Must be close to an AFL Record. Having said that, you won on all the stats by a considerable margin. You simply worked harder than us, no doubt. But we did get within 7 points and were shocking for the best part of the game. You're not that good, and we're not as good as some of the Port posters would have the footy world believe, judging by their comments pre-game. North are one of those teams we just don't play well against doesn't matter how we're going and where we are on the ladder. You hammered us at Docklands in our premiership year, after all.

I'll give you the Impey non mark

Evened out by the Goldstein (?) non mark in front of goal. Even if the ball got a bit of ground there was no way the ump could of seen that from behind.

Goldstein grassed it. It was a non-mark. And it's "could have" not "could of".

Your blokes couldn't win the ball against our 2nd option midfield missing our best and third best inside mids. Your mids didn't have a bad game they tested their mettle against our undermanned midfield and came up way short. Really don't know how you can be so sure your team is better. Was clearance beast monfries* going to drag you over the line?

Lol, you're delusional buddy. You played shit because we made you. We smothered the living suitcase out of Port and ran over your mob like a good team does.

You lost Monfries and we lost MacMillan, you had a couple of winged players and so did we. And don't get carried away with the "we could've snatched it" bullshit, we put all of our numbers behind the ball to kill the game as it is something we're not particular good at. So of course you would get a lot of posession of the ball in attacking spots late in that game, we were purely defending at the time. The good thing about it is that we have a lot of improvement left as this is our 3rd game at it and so far the improvement each game has been exponential.

Yes I also can't wait to play your mob once again, anywhere, as the blueprint of how to beat your mob has been laid to bare. Bring it chump.

Mate you want the truth, well actually I'll just give it to ya.

You play the game like a bunch of sissy girls, running ahead of the game at every opportunity. And as long as your arse points towards the earth you'll never win anything playing that style.
'I rate our win yesterday on what we had missing from our best 22, and that;s what made it a great win, we've also tightened up our 'style' something Port will need to do sooner than later.

Hawthorn will maul you.

You did indeed. Read my posts. I just think we don't deserve to have the scorn poured on us after that result. We're the third youngest team in the comp and have been playing with a lot of heart and flair. You didn't beat a Hawthorn or Geelong.

No-one's "pouring scorn". Despite the floggishness of many Port supporters, we value this win because it was against a good team in form, and our team played well enough to stop Port paying at their best. And we beat Geelong already, so that's not that big a deal.
