You forgot the horizontal one on the Port Adelaide guernsey.

Wow, that’s a compelling argument, let me review my position..... hmmm no, f&$# off!

it's not like we are wearing white&black every week - just for special occasions.

I do hope Collingwood crash burnt the whole of this season & next.

>> Port Adelaide Power aren't the Port Adelaide Magpies.

Then why are they allowed to draft using fathers-sons rule ..?

Wow, another compelling (if somewhat moronic) argument, let me review my position.... um, no, f$&# off!

The Answer is no.
It will always be no, because as the AFL has stated it’s Collingwoods decision and Collingwoods decision is and always will be no, so stop carrying on like a pack of b1tches and accept it.

It’s hard to understand what part of NO is so difficult to grasp. Maybe we need to use more crayons.

Correct you allow a precedent and then this will allow the foundation for this to be challenged in court successfully.

I think its blindingly obvious Port have grandiose plans of this becoming their permanent jumper.

What Pies supporters should really appreciate, is that once it happens and you have a change of heart, there will be absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Port are been smuck about it , the goodwill shown by our club to agree for them to wear it as a once off , is been thrown back in our face, No respect and no class on their behalf , never look a gift horse in the mouth Port, and Collingwood is your gift horse, don`t ever forget that , we are Black and White, no other in this competition, now run along and try and establish your own identity

I’m a conciliatory guy.
I want love not war.
So here’s something for the Port POWER posters to take this back to the club.

I propose we allow POWER to wear their prisoner jumper when playing against Adelaide Crows, and only the Adelaide Crows and only at the Adelaide oval.
In return, whenever they play Collingwood FC, at any ground, they wear a true Port Magpies heritage jumper.
This one.

Without the SANFL Premiership list of course.
I think even Eddie would agree to these conditions.
Over to you POWER.

I think this thread has run its course for now. We can do better than mud-slinging, both us and Port supporters.

It will be reopened if and when we have any new developments.

I personally couldn't care less if they wear the prison bar jumper 1-2 times a year. It's a good looking jumper and 1-2 time a year doesn't hurt anyone. However given how the signed agreement's been handled and bandied about thus far, I'm glad our answer remains No.

Port arguing that a signed agreement over Heritage Round jumpers somehow = the same thing for showdown jumpers is just stupid. To use that agreement as "proof" that they're allowed to, when they've already broken said agreement by selling the jumper, means the proposal shouldn't be considered. "Please, this agreement that we've already broken should back us up". Get stuffed.

Now that the AFL has handed down their ruling, Koch is really spitting the dummy, comparing Eddie to Trump and playing the non-Victorian victim card. They know they don't have a leg to stand on, so now they're trying to paint us as the villain.

This issue will continue on forever unless the AFL come out and issue a definitive, permanent ruling. Either they say “the AFL will Never allow the use of the pylon guernsey whilst there is a another team with the black and white stripes competing in the AFL”, or they say “Port has approval to use the pylon guernsey whenever they want”.

That is the only solution, as Port Power will continue to say We want, we want, we want you big bad VFL😛, and the team that has worn the B & W stripes since it entered the VFL (which expanded nationally to an AFL competition) will say the B & W stripes are our heritage and nobody else in the competition can imitate them.

AFL needs to step up and make a definitive, dictatorial decision, and end this now.

I thought that Port already has approval from the AFL to wear the pylon guernsey whenever they want.... as long as we give consent.

No, i don't think that is correct. There is a signed document between Port, AFL and Collingwood, that allows port to wear the guernsey in "Heritage" rounds only, and only when they don't play Collingwood.

Otherwise, i don't think there is any agreement where we are the sole authority to give consent... the AFL are the only body that makes the decisions on the guernseys, since they own all the rights.

It's an amazing discussion,
From what I have read Port had a black and white jumper 20 years before we did.
But to counter that Port joined the AFL as a new Port Adelaide and has no connection to it's past?
Others can counter Collingwood was called Britannia Football Club.
