Mitchell and Hodge were never co-captains. Mitchell was captain 2008-10 and then Hodge took over for 6 years.

I never said they were. But Mitchell was without doubt an unofficial leader of that club whilst Hodge was captain. Judd and Cousins the same.

Plenty of football clubs have only ever had one captain. You can't use AFL only because we haven't been in the league for 149 years.

Melbourne are the only AFL club that is older than Port and they have had Co Captains that makes us the oldest football club in the AFL to have had a single Captain for our entire existence. We cannot have it both ways, we cannot stick our chest out and adorn our guernseys with 1870 then dismiss what happened for the first 126 years of the period. There was absolute outrage when the AFL tried to brand us as Est.1997 yet here you are saying they were right.

The Victorians seem to do well out of the period prior to the formation of the AFL so why shouldn't we? Carlton and Collingwood have their VFL Premierships recognised, Bob Skilton and Ian Stewart have their Brownlows recognised so why shouldn't we have our pre 1996 history recognised ?
