Aliir runs around down back like a hyperactive kid at Davoren Park Woolworths.

As I posted in another thread I know this won't happen but I would match up Jarrod Lienert on him as a defensive forward to negate his rebound. Lienert was a forward as a junior so it's not like he's unfamiliar with that end of the ground.

It's the exception - Sydney are pretty infamous slow starters in the first few rounds. They're W-L looks far better in the back end of seasons than at the start, and I'm pretty sure their percentage is significantly better too.
Well I sincerely hope you're right. But we need to stick with them for the entire 120 minutes: Sydney is one side you can't concede a 5 goal lead to, as they're the masters at shutting the game down to protect a lead. It'd be a refreshing change to see us burst out of the blocks, and make them play catch up for once!!!

How much do you need to alter the way you play at the SCG? i think we struggle with the ground let alone Sydney.

Welcome aboard. We'll put a smile on your face then rip it straight back :p.
Thankyou Byron. I am hoping not this year. Lets hope the smile stays for the bulk of the season. A solid start to the year will go a long way to achieving that. If Ryder keeps developing from that effort on the weekend, that will go a long way towards getting our season going in the right direction.

Interesting choice of username.

It would appear your namesake and I share some similar interests.

Geez man, I hope we go well this year. Wouldn't want you to snap and do something rash.

I wonder if the coaches are considering Bonner for this match with Pittard out and Broadbent unlikely to play. His decision making needs a lot of work, and I think we looked much better on the weekend with slower more though out ball movement. However I wonder if his long kick and line breaking ability would be useful on the smaller ground.

I reckon Bonner is a strong chance to be selected for the game against the swannies, Kenny backed Pittard to come good, and Bonner is arguably the nearest type in style of play to him on our list, so I can see him doing the same with Bonner.
Bonner also took a lot of the kick outs against the dawks, which may also be a sign that he is inline for selection in round 1.
