Now we see what type of coach we have ... we are in this game... but our conversion has let us donw..its not about system ..its about finals nerves.

How to suddenly become confident ..is hard to organise ... but its just lack of confidence ..probably what happens when players are very aware of whats on the line..
Cannot be put on the coach. The game plan is executed to perfection at the moment. We just have our main forward choking.

On current form we'd win. Hawkins won't continue to kick poorly, Stewart won't continue to get his poo pushed in and we'll clean up some of our poor use in tight.
My worry is if and when port get their run and domination chance that they'll put the game beyond our reach.
We MUST come out early this quarter and put the ****ing score on the board.

We know what type of coach we have and that's why there is so much negativity around here. Didn't get blown away early so that's a plus, but we aren't converting which is a real worry.

Remember when everyone went nuts at savs goal kicking cos he kicked 2 goals 1. how do we feel about 0 goals 3 behinds and 1 that doesnt even make the distance from 35m out?

Hawkins is untouchable on this board for some reason, that's one thing I've learned tonight

Sure is harsh to blame Hawkins for us being behind. He is the only forward we have and he's presenting pretty well. Sucks that he's not kicking them but perhaps we could find some different targets as well.

He's body work has been excellent. His give to Tuohy that resulted in a goal was first rate. Hopefully he has his kicking boots on the second half.

Now that I've had a chance to take a breath, the important thing is that we're not out of the game. We're in it up to our eyeballs, and the scoreboard isn't reflecting the fact we've played some good football through the first half. We've just been let down by blowing some very gettable chances, shots that we should be kicking

Just can't drop our heads now, even after conceding the late goal. They're not going to go away and they've got a whole crowd behind them. They're playing a very physical game. We need to stand up to them by playing the ball, keep creating opportunities and straighten up our goal kicking

Don't let a good half of football slip away now. Come on Geelong 💪

Mate you honestly cannot blame Scott for Hawkins choking

It's not like the coaching don't know though.
He's always choked in the finals. Averages just over a goal per final his entire career so why drop another key forward on the eve of finals?

And remember, how many times have I told you about Gary Rohan. This is when you need tall forwards.
Just watch what West Coast's talls do to Collingwood. Watch Richmond struggle without Tom Lynch beside Riewoldt.

In the finals, you need two power forwards.

Scoreboard says we're still not.

They have the belief, the momentum, and we're choking in front of goal. We finally eek one out and they match it immediately.
I agree with their point though. Geelong have played better footy except for the extremely important task of goal kicking. 8 inside 50 marks to 1, many more scoring shots. But if accuracy does not arrive, we will lose regardless of being superior elsewhere.

See the replay? Butters got a free kick for headbutting O'Connor. Or because O'Connor didn't cop it sweet. Then of course the maggots marched then down the ground for Ebert's eventual miss. Reminds me of the SANFL. Only one team allowed to fly the flag or get physical. fu** Port, go the Cats.
I thought I heard them say "high, against butters" which I took to initially mean our free kick.

If Hawkins had kicked straight, and not wasted a shot on goal trying to be clever, we would actually be in front.

He's choked badly, and we look desperately shy of goal kickers aside from him.

True. Both teams struggling to score. Our defence is set up well. Need more from the likes of Danger and Miers.
