Horne-Francis should be winning our B&F.

I still maintain that Jase has not had a consistent enough year to date to be an All Australian.

He will get his jacket, very soon if not next year.

When he gets the nod, you want it to be an unanimous selection

If he sneaks in this year, it will all be because of "Corne-francis" on the selection board (even though that's not how it works)

Dwayno telling his listeners that a Wild Card round is a near certainty for the 2025 season.

Of course it is. More sponsor and broadcast $$ in the AFL bank account means bonus payments for the Dil and his staff at AFL House. And seeing so many non Vic teams in the eight this year has surely seen the Melbourne based clubs Monday coffee catch up at Docklands demanding a second chance system to restore things to their right balance.

Next week is another season defining round. 8-point games everywhere.

We win and it will give us an edge over one of Brisbane/Giants, Freo/Geelong, Carlton/Hawks, Collingwood/Swans.
I think Collingwood v Swans is the biggest. Swans lose and they've blown a huge 3 game + % lead on top spot. They can still even drop out of the 4 if results went against them.

With 3 to go, we're still 2 games behind Sydney (1 + a likely insurmountable percentage gap), so we'd need to win all 3 to jump them and hope they lose 2 of 3. If they lose this weekend it really opens things up at the top.

Fascinating looking at the Predictor though, if Freo lost to us they could still miss finals. Hawks beat Carlton this week and they could pinch a spot. Dogs could finish 2nd, Lions 1st. Geelong top 4. Carlton could miss but likely wont.

Don't remember a year with so much potential with 3 weeks to go.

I keep having us crossing paths in Brizvegas.... which I would loath.

One of just 6 players to average at least 20 disposals and 1 goal a game.
The other 5 being Marcus Bontempelli, Chad Warner, Isaac Heeney, Josh Kelly and Christian Petracca.

Yeah it's an elite stat but he's probably battling those guys for a spot on a HFF and he just simply hasn't had a better year than Bontempelli, Heeney or Warner.

Cool let's make an already saturated comp even longer. That'll get the fans excited lol

To be perfectly honest, it works for the less well off clubs, that extra finals money is often the difference between a season in the red or the black.

From a sporting perspective it's sucky, but from a business perspective it makes sense.

From a fan perspective - those who actually fork out to go to every home game - it also sucks as this extra round will obviously be yet another cost not included in the season ticket.

Yep, I get its more $$ all round for the 'business' of the AFL. But from my personal business/finance perspective it makes zero sense. And the further the game and the club actually gets from the people who made it.

Documents have been lodged with the Federal Court detailing how Alastair Clarkson allegedly told a Hawthorn player to “break up” with his partner and “tell her to terminate the pregnancy” or his football career would be “in jeopardy”.

Almost two years afterthe Hawks racism scandalfirst broke, allegations against multiple former club chiefs have been formalised in an 89-page statement of claim.
Hawks great Cyril Rioli is the lead applicant in the court action in which five former Hawthorn figures and their partners – Shannyn Ah Sam-Rioli, Carl Peterson, Jermaine Miller-Lewis, Montanah-Rae Lewis and Leon Egan – are seeking damages, aggravated damages and apologies from the club.
The statement of claim also identifies four-time Hawthorn premiership star Grant Birchall as the player who allegedly made a racial slur in reference to the partner of former Hawk and now Saint Bradley Hill on an end-of-season player’s trip in Bali.

At the end of the 2013 season … at an end-of-season player’s trip, an Indigenous player (Mr Bradley Hill) was asked by a non-Indigenous player (Mr Grant Birchall) whether Mr Hill’s partner was also a ‘boong’,” the document alleges.
“Mr Hill told Mr Rioli of this comment at the first pre-season training session around late November 2013 … Hawthorn did not take any action in response to this incident.”

Explosive claims Hawks chiefs pressured former Indigenous player Carl Petersen and his partner Nikita Rotumah to terminate a pregnancy during the 2009 season have been central to the scandal.
The documents recount an alleged conversation held between Clarkson, Peterson, then Hawks official and now Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan and Hawthorn welfare officer Jason Burt in a small office at the club’s Waverley headquarters.
“Mr Clarkson, Mr Fagan and Mr Burt were present in the room before Mr Peterson arrived,” the document says.
“There was initially some friendly and positive discussion about how impressed the coaches were with Mr Peterson’s development and skills as a player.
“Mr Burt then informed Mr Peterson that he had shared Mr Peterson’s news with Mr Clarkson and Mr Fagan.
“Mr Burt said words to the effect: ‘Carl, being a father is a huge responsibility and we don’t think you’re ready to be a father.’
“Mr Clarkson said words to the effect: ‘Carl, you need to break up with Nikita and focus only on your football.’
“Mr Clarkson said words to the effect: ‘Unless you break up with her and tell her to terminate the pregnancy, your football career will be in jeopardy.’ Mr Fagan nodded his head during the meeting”.

If it hits the courts, it's whammo time.

I've never heard the Grant Birchall comments. Whoa!!!

It's coming out and it is looking really ugly.

Wow, just wow.

THEY ATTENDED CAUFIELD GRAMMER. WHAT LOVELY YOUNG MEN.

And they say footy is increasingly unrelatable to the common man.

“Caviar College is up your way isn’t it, Jonesy?”

— “Sure is, Jimothy!”

Anyone who says 'I look forward to defending my reputation in the Courts' as Alistair Clarkson did last week is either an idiot or has no understanding of the judicial process.

But the AFL review told us there were no findings. Did nobody think to mention these allegations in the review? Surely they weren't just ignored? Although the AFL did acknowledge the hurt, pain and anguish from what happened while having non-existent findings.

Hawthorn champion Cyril Rioli has claimed that he was nicknamed “Humphrey B Bear” among a long list of racist and culturally insensitive issues that forced him into AFL retirement, court documents have revealed.

Mr Rioli, who retired in 2018 after winning four premierships with Hawthorn, is the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit against the club alleging that he was the subject of racism and racial discrimination during his time with the Hawks.

Mr Rioli alleged in the court documents that he was called “Humphrey B Bear” by Mr Clarkson and “thereby associated … with a black bear”.

He also said that in November 2011, while visiting family in Darwin, he had a meeting with Mr Clarkson at a hotel.

He claimed that he was told by Mr Clarkson words to the effect of “be careful not to have babies and understand that your career has just taken off and that a child will disrupt your career or potentially end it”.

Just wait and Clarkson will be out on leave with "mental health" issues.

Fagan doesn't fare too well in the list of allegations either.

The AFL' beleives its own marketing BS. Its collective head is so far up its own clacker, The Dill must wake up every morning wondering why his breath stinks no matter how many times he gargles the kool aid.

Have zero understanding of the legitimacy or otherwise of the claims being made, but every time AFL House gets called out for its boys' club 'internal review' BS is a time we get a little bit closer to the whole deck of cards falling down. And it's a day that can't come soon enough imho.
