Forget that it was “Andrew Moore”, and forget the AFL career that came afterwards.

In what world does a 188-189cm goalscoring mid who had starred for Vic Metro at the National Champs and then in the U18 finals series — twice taking a fellow top-10 pick to the cleaners head-to-head — and then tested through the roof at the combine, and as a bonus is also the younger brother of an established AFL player (pedigree), go at 40-50?

It’s the reverse of all the people who think we should’ve taken Nat Fyfe, who looked like Josh Bootsma with a scattergun set shot.
Unfortunately he was drafted at the time when the club was at its lowest of lows. Like others have stated he probably would have reached his top 10 potential if he were picked by another side that had better coaches & development programs.

I wouldn't argue Moore's potential in his draft year or where he was taken I think the reality is he would've sucked anywhere he went though, for some the draft potential is their zenith, there are top 20 potatoes every year.

Yeah, he was one of those guys who would play like a swaggering beast at the level below, but would inexplicably seem to lack belief and constantly second-guess himself at the highest level.

Maybe someone else gets the best out of him, but if he couldn’t properly break into the Port midfield of 2011-2015, he wouldn’t have stood much of a chance at a best-practice Hawthorn or Geelong.

I don't think Moore ever had it in him to be an AFL level midfielder. His best hope would've been as a pre-injury Jack Hombsch type third tall interceptor, which from memory is where we started him off, but then we fell into the 'try to make everyone a midfielder!' trap and that was the end of that.

I remember well until Ford mentioned him as a Smokie there had been zero discussion about him.
His name only came up the day or so before the draft.
He looked no more than a handy utility player and unfortunately never even reached those heights.
All the talk was about getting this key forward who would have gone number one if his body wasn’t totally wrecked.
Throw in Pittard and it was the draft from hell.
I know you’re a big Butcher fan and normally your opinions are pretty good.
I’m totally at the other end on Butcher so will leave it at that.

What's Dean Brogan's involvement with the Tour Down Under? just saw him presenting one of the post race jerseys to one of the riders on the dais.. bring back the flower girls and end this woke mind virus!!
efex sponsor the King and Queen of Mountain jersey in the men's and women's races. Brogan is GM in SA of efex, a business to business IT support/ software company.

Pretty sure he was working for them in NSW post playing days with GWS and transferred back to SA to open up their Adelaide office and Port picked him up as part time ruck coach as a result. Then covid hit after he had been with us for about 16 months and we axed him.

Who the Farken Hell nominated her? Hubby? A colleague? A DEI consultant?
Hubby? 🤣 I’m guessing you don’t know much about Kelly. I’d say she was nominated for being one of the only female commentators twenty years ago when she began, while there’s been female sports journalists she was one of the first callers. I think calling the game is much harder than “special comments” and while Brian Taylor continues to call Travis our captain and get half our team’s names wrong I don’t think she’s the worst. She does a good job hosting Offsiders and manages to write, call, present and fill a radio role. Yep, the orange team was a cracker but if you look at her career as a whole she does a lot well.

All I know is that if I hear her voice I instantly turn the program off.
Is like a cat sliding down a blackboard to me.

Her not being close to the worst is both 100% correct and 100% horrifying.

AFL commentary has to be world worst in any sport.

Thats it.

Change the date immediately so we can celebrate on a date where this didnt happen.
She's an atrocious commentator, I grant you that.
But she's a reasonable interviewer, and as someone has mentioned, she possesses an excellent body of work in several other capacities.

That said, waiting for Gerard Whateley and Andy Maher to receive their AO medals 🏅 😱

I anticipate that I shall be in the running for the United Nations "International Medal of Peace" shortly too. Prepping my speech now!

She wa shithouse on Offsiders. She made blatant errors and she just carried on blindly. She was so bad I wrote them down for 3 or 4 shows a few years back and then gave up as there were so many. I went from a decade plus regular watcher to an ocassional watcher as a result of her poor efforts.

Funnily enough I think this was also me :)

Imagine people caring more about the 2 minutes WTC than they do about the rampant cheating and corruption in the game.

Oh that’s right, same bullshit dog whistling distraction tactics as ever.
Underwood AO is a government psyop
