Dissapointed in the value that we've gotten (presumably) for the Toumpas component, but I'd take a deal where we get practically nothing for him rather than he be on our list next year.

I hope Mahoney trades in a spine for himself. Would love to play poker against him, has seemingly no ticker when it comes to trading.
He's doing damage to our trading brand tbh. Roos has clearly taken a back seat this trading period.

Toumpas for 29 and Howe for Kennedy and 50. Shite deal Melbourne.

**** Mahoney, grow a spine you tool! This makes 25 for Melksham look like a master-stroke.
Helping out the team that made him?

Only way to explain it....

Now just if he can shift Hogan across before he's sacked :$

You could excuse the Melksham by weak draft/picking on need/might be better without drug scandal affecting him, but this is crazy?

Makes me wonder how Toumpas is mentally...I've never met the bloke so don't take this as anything but mere speculation aw to why this trade was done, but I wonder if it may be a good will trade because he is struggling with stuff at the moment? Could have got a pick closer to Bells worth for sure.

Howe for Kennedy + 50 isn't as bad. Not a big fan of Howe tbh, trsde fo him was going to be steak knives unless Suns went crazy imo.

It's really Kennedy and 29 for Howe = vary fair. Melbourne slight winners if they draft even a fairly reasonable kid.

And 50 for Toumpas, which is about right or a slight bit cheap.

Overall not a bad trade for Melbourne. Kennedy will play 100 reasonable games. Howe could play 80 reasonable and 20 top class games for Collingwood or 80 reasonable and 20 horrible games for Collingwood.

Good 4 club trade imo.

Toumpas for Melksham is almost even given Toumpas has delivered almost nothing but Howe for Kennedy (who barely got a game for Collingwood) & 50 is just wrong. Carlton might be the team going backwards the furthest this trading period but at least that seems to be a plan to rebuild in the draft (and with #1 next year almost certain with the VFL team they will be fielding)

All depends on where you rate Kennedy and Toumpas for Melbourne and that's a pretty hard thing to do. Both are somewhere between 30 and 50.

Neither have shown much at AFL. Toumpas almost slightly more tbh. But Toumpas has issues at VFL level as well, Kennedy tears up the VFL just hasn't adapted to AFL.

Kennedy for Toumpas. That's a win.
Pick 29 and 50 for Howe. That's a loss.

If pick 50 gets us Bugg and 25 got us Melksham then all up Melbourne would come out of the week with:

Howe, Toumpas out, moving from pick 25 to 29:
Melksham, Kennedy, Bugg in:

That's giving up some potential talent but brings in 3 guys who would push for games in every team and can hold up a spot in the side in different roles. It means we'd have to draft some more high end talent types but also gives us freedom to do that knowing we have a list that can compete.

Melbourne perhaps returning a bit of goodwill to Port seeing as they weren't forced into a trade for Ben Newton last year.
Right because he turned out so well at Casey
While we're at it we should just trade Hogan and Brayshaw for 3rd rounders too I reckon. **** this pathetic club.

Compete for?

Kennedy as an inside mid tears it up at the VFL level. He is played as a forward pocket or as a sub at AFL level and hasn't been give much opportunity in the middle. If he is given a chance (which you might not do) to play as a true inside mid at AFL level it would be interesting to see what happens. Could be ok. He is small but quick and tough. Hopefully he's a gem.
